Sorry to hear that. Try to look on the bright side though, it wasn't something more serious. You might be able to drive in your cast in a couple of weeks if you take it slowly.
If you want a second opinion on the position of the fracture, rather than accepting the advice of A+E let me know and I'll be happy to look at the X rays

Thanks for the 'get well' messages - it was my right wrist BUT I am left handed so can still carry out the essential functions (including lifting the all important pint of ale!). AND the offer of a second opinion from BMWZ4MC - much appreciated. I had a look at the X rays and whilst no expert the break was obvious but clean. A and E at Scarborough were excellent and a credit to our ailing NHS service. Flying back out to Africa on Monday so the cast will be partially split tomorrow and resecured with velcro tabs so I can release any pressure build up in the flight. Mrs J will keep the Zed aired whilst I am away I have no doubt.

After getting up and setting of for a haircut, find a 'bulb out' warning to find its one of the xenons gone, and the headlight is full of moisture. Bugger, I thought, will have to get the bumper off and check the sealant around the light as the rainy season is on its way....... oh wait.....
Then, lunchtime, picking up some groceries from the local supermarket, some numpty pensioner in a Mercedes MPV scrapes across my front bumper (not once, but twice), smiles at my son (who is sat in the passenger seat, staring open mouthed) and drives off! Only just had the bumper resprayed in June! Police informed, insurance informed, I'm off on holiday, so hopefully will be sorted for when I return.... :evil:

Clearly the impact on the bumper cracked the seal on the headlight. Mr Pensioner's insurance can replace that too. Did your son get his reg number?
