Today I did 145mph with the roof down!

Whats the fastest recorded on here for roof down motoring? :)

I'll just spectate this topic :icecream:

Out of interest, is it just roof down or roof down and side windows down too?

Very high speed with the windows down and no wind deflector is nasty - did it in my first Z. Though you should get points for endurance if you manage it for any length of time...

Come on Mr Quad, stop teasing :poke:

I think someone did 160 on the autobahn in a delimited M

I remember reading somewhere that it will go past the speed limiter in 5th gear...

Mine doesn't have a limiter, I haven't had it removed, just wasn't there.

Adamski was talking about the e85/86 M, but I thought they are all electronically limited to 155 ?

I can confirm that the M will go past the suposed 155 limiter in 5th. It will also hit the limiterin 4th, just before les combes if your not paying attention, only did that once.It was fifth half way up the hill after that and always roof down, windows up deflector in place.

I've managed 120 (according to my road angel)

Was pretty gusty and all sorts of papers got sucked up!

Yeah not too slow really! The scenery flys by fairly quickly when youre going that quick, and the brakes smell hot when you brake down to 80 for a corner :D

Track or no track, limited or not, the shape of the Z4 will create enough lift when doing 150mph to make it quite dangerous. I think only the Alpina with the rear spoiler and front splitter will actually cancel the "lift" effect on the car.

I wouldn't feel at all comfortable doing over 150 in the zed

This was the same for me in my M3 in fifth, I don't think they can be limited, I was just curious & wanted to know if it had one or not.

Did 140 last year autobahn top down .sat nav .speedo 145 ish to be honest the wind noise etc felt no didferent than 80 . But you do have to be more aware at that speed of people pulling out into YOUR lane:grin:

Is this fact, fiction or your opinion?
