Today I did 145mph with the roof down!

On a track, of course :wink:

Great effort - I've had mine at over a ton 20 (on a track :wink: ) with the roof down, and whilst it was a bit blowy I was surprised it wasn't more so.

Nice little perk at work. Once a year, people bring in their cars to display and 70 odd get to go on the track for 20 mins :D

Were some nice cars there :) RX7 spitting flames on overrun was fun, and noisy.

Overtaking a Type R Civic foot to the floor doing 130 mph was even more fun :D
 
Was that 145mph as indicated on the speedo, or measured by GPS?

Once you start going much faster, everything really happens extremely quickly and you need to anticipate what the traffic way, way ahead is going to do. Must admit that I've not done it in an open-top with the roof down.

Would love to know what we hit at one point on the Saturday drive on the a590 back from windermere... The Ms at the front of our little convoy of 5 or 6 certainly had fun.

Indicated on the speedo so probably more like 135, but still fairly quick :D

No traffic except for other cars on the track and braked fairly early anyway just to make sure :P Its not really a proper track day, more a have a bit of fun 20 mins :D
 
Good to give the engine a lttle work out every once in a while. Red line in 5th is about as quick as I've managed, roof down.
 
I read recently that someone took theirs on the autobahns a few weeks back. not sure how quick they got and/or if they had the roof down!

It is blowy, but definately manageable and not uncomfortable! At least for the time I was out there.
 
Ive managed to get 125-ish with the roof down but so much dust was goin in my eyes i think i need 2 invest in a pair of goggles like the old blokes in their peugot 406 soft tops lol.. Was also on a track ;-)
