To wave or not to wave...?

I find the Dutch treat me with sheer derision when I flash/wave.

Apart from this one time when a dutch-registered M roadie appeared behind me then pulled in front and gave me the left/right indicator wave. Suffice to say, I responded enthusiastically with a couple of flashes, to which with he floored it causing quite a spectacle to the other morning commuters. this was the exception to the rule though sadly.

I still wave. I don't care. I'll wave to anyone in any situation if I deem it to be wave-worthy

Depends.

I see quite a few unkept Zeds on the road (usually driven by people who just need a car for A to B driving).

I don’t show acknowledgement to those individuals...however if I see a clean Zed, with perhaps a private plate or a stubby; then I will display recognition

The older and shinier the car the more likely of a wave back

Blonde female in a nearly new E89 .. forget it

Yes, that's been my experience too.

Saw a blonde lady in an E89 18i the other day - didn't bother!

Nobody has ever waved and nor have I ever been in the spotted section of the forum.
I suspect my cloak of invisibility would only be removed if I was someplace that I wasn’t supposed to be :D

I think if I saw a blonde female in a Z4, id forget to wave :D

i wave at other Z4 owners, they just look back as if Im some kind of knob. mostly these have been e89 drivers. as thats what i have.
its not like the days of past when I had my MGF. other owners would often wave, but then, these days, community is all but gone. everyone is wary and most people are aggressive towards others. shame really.

Had my first Zed flash headlights and wave this morning on way to AV8 Cotswolds meet...albeit a Z3! ...still good to be acknowledged.

I commute into London everyday and some drivers... :headbang: Still wave when I'm in the Zed but yet to get a wave back, just some odd looks

I see an e85 and an e89 every day. They never wave. Ive given up trying with those two now. Although if i see a different one i always acknowledge them, never had a response yet though.

Looked a muppet on occasions waving to a 640, thinking it was a Zed!!!!! But doesn’t put me off I’ll keep on waving.

I never mind if I don't get a response as one waver makes up for a few misses.
It's the confusion/slating from any passengers which is the worst! haha

Been great weather here recently. I have been waving at all sorts. Old tractors, on there way to some village fate. A frog eye. A whole convoy of f types and xks in aTavi and even the odd Zed. :D

Im not far from you, I will wave if I see you

Ha Ha, yes please do, then I wont feel so bad!

There are actually a lot of Z's on the roads near me, I see one almost every time I go out now the weather is not so pants.
even saw one nearly identical to mine the other day, but I was unlucky, they were a split second in front of me at a set of traffic lights. Or look at it another way, I would have been sat right next to them in the next lane, so probably saved myself looking like a complete tool waving away at them lol

Proper laughed at that one! I imagined it being one of those four way traffic lights that take 2 minutes to change and you waving the whole time with the other person pretending to have not noticed you!

Being a new owner, I haven't got into the habit of giving or acknowledging a wave when I see another Z yet. Don't think I'd wave to an E89 driver for fear of the "who are YOU and WHY are you waving at ME?!" reaction I'd most likely get!!
