Chaps,
I'm really struggling with this one. Right on the fence as to whether sell up or not.
I've had it for 8 years now and it as seen me through some dark days. I've come from a 911 background and struggled to find something with the character of the older aircoooled cars, with any later pork, other than a 996/7 GT3. Last year I drove lots of stuff from 991.2s, 718S, Evora 410, M4 etc, to see if there was anything else that appealed, but came up short. I just can't get on with the automatic sports cars 90% of people drive these days, EPAS, start stop etc. Fine on a daily though.
Roof down, S54 wailing and overwhelming the rear tyres on a twisty road is still intoxicating to me and right up there with most NA exotics.
So If I'm going to keep a performance car, I would keep the Zed. It would be almost irreplaceable in this condition / spec which has nothing I would change, except a friend has another low mileage example that I would have first refusal on. If it's ever for sale though..
But.. Living in central London and only really driving down south these days, it's all managed motorways, traffic, cameras. It's rare I get to enjoy any spirited driving. I'm pretty close to packing it in and joining a car club / buying a run around. I'll still have my motorcycles to play with and they are much less constrained, with traffic at least.
