Had the car a little over six months now. Did the run in till 1200miles, gradually increase the load after that, did an oil change at 3000miles. So, it's time to unleash the beast at 3800miles.

Took the G29 to Donington Park on Tuesday and had a day of fun. :driving: :driving: :driving:

In a short summary, the car is way better than me so never reached the car's limit.

Good stuff, looks awesome! i've got similar pictures of my boxster, but i'll save them for the boxa forum...

what engine is in yours?
 
Oh yeah! Looks amazing! I’m always worries about stone chips on the track, but next time you go let me know. I’ll come for a few laps. ;)
 
[ref]brillomaster[/ref], yeah, save your photo for the Porsche forum. Mine is m40i.

[ref]ori[/ref], just come. It’s really fun. And, the most important thing is it’s legal to drive to 120mph. About the stone chip, I think it’s not much worse than daily drive on motorway and tailgating. I picked up two marble chips though. But they are quite soft and easily removed.

[ref]sars[/ref], the temperature on the day is quite low. 2-4 degree, so it helped the cooling. Also, I didn’t do any long stint. Each stint was around 15 laps. The tyre hold up really well. Never exceed 50 degree. When they reached 30+ degree, the grip is amazing. The brake also hold up very well. The disc turned blue after each stint. No fade. However, as with all oem pads, it can suffer from glazing a little bit so there were some vibration under heavy braking when the brake temperature was high (e.g after 10+ laps of each stint). After some cooling down, the vibration seemed to go away.
 
Hope you did cool down laps and let some air out of the tyres.

Haven’t done the cool down lap. Instead, drove in the car park for 10 more minutes in slow speed without using the brake. Then took the photo above.

If I recall you also should also not apply the handbrake when you come in to prevent pads melting onto the burning hot discs.

That’s correct. Basically, don’t use any brake when wheel isn’t rotating
 
Glad you had a good time. Out of curiosity……how much did you end up taking off the tyres doing 50 laps? I’m sure pads would have taken a big hit.
I used to assume new pads after a track day.

Did about 126miles on the day which includes some slow cool down driving in the car park. So let's assume I did 120mile and Donington Park is about 2 mile per lap so did about 60 laps. The tyre doesn't look like being eaten up a lot. I would say 1-1.5mm down. But it picked up a lot of marbles so potentially I need to scrape them off if normal drive doesn't get rid of them.

Actually, the pad also looks okay. Not much consumption. Again, maybe 1mm down. But the wheel is covered by the dust and the colour changed from cerium grey to matt dark grey. :rofl: :rofl:
