Hi has anyone done a track day in there own car at Thruxton.? Drove the track 18 years ago in a 355 but that seems like a lifetime ago.

Does it make for a fun track or is it a bit dangerous as it's quite a high speed track. What are the run off's like if you make a mistake.?

never done any track days there but have been loads to watch superbikes and touring cars, it has plenty of run off and is the
fastest track in the country, its also got a great Go cart track have been there quiet a few times with mates for some carting
shenanigins

I did a track day there once - it was fantastic, if scary!

If you like to carry corner speed this is one of the best circuits around.

Go for it!

Space wise there is runoff but I seem to remember it's mostly grass rather than gravel traps so you can quite easily end up in the barrier unless you've only slightly overcooked it. BTCC cars have ended up flipping over the barrier and landing in the woods...

Nice wide track and good fun though.

I did a Porsche Experience day there a few years ago, driving the Cayman.

I found it a very easy track to get to know and plenty of run-off if you overcooked it.

Would highly recommend it and would happily go down there again.
