Threatening T3sco...

So, a 'friend' of mine was incorrectly charged on an item purchased at T3sco. £2.19 each or 2 for £3 but was charged £4.38.

So, the 'friend' went to said T3sco the next day, preparing to be told "Oh no sir, that offer doesn't exist". So went to the product label and took a photo of it, proving the offer.

'Friend' went to Customer Services to be told "It is illegal to take photos of the labels" and a telling off ensued...

It turned out the offer was for a similar but not the same product and the position of the label was in such a position as to cause confusion to the 'friend'. In fact, the CS Rep even said this was not the first complaint of the same product that day.

After the threats of legal action, they refunded £1.38 and said "Don't ever take pictures again"...

LOL

I would not have time to fight over a ridiculously small amount.

I'd walk away.

Illegal to take photos?

They always do that in there place there offer labels so you think something is on offer but it's the bigger one etc.

Also they stick yellow labels on stuff that isn't even on offer

They get away with it because they are such a large company and nobody can be bothered to go elsewhere

Vote with your feet and shop somewhere else

My thoughts? Shop elsewhere, I have had much better service at morrissons, sainsburys, waitrose, and aldi. I have never been able to understand why crapco do so well.

Always do the Asda online price guarantee check on our weekly shop. Asda is always cheaper than Tesco, Morrison, Sainsbury's and Waitrose and Tesco is usually more expensive than the rest

It's not illegal to take photos, but as it's private property they are within their rights to ask you to leave and also to call the police to make you. Their security staff has no right to take any details, look at your camera or phone or make you delete pictures

If you were taking a picture of their store from a public place, there's nothing they can do to stop you, despite a lot of blustering that might ensue.

Why they'd bother though is beyond me, the publicity would do more harm than good.

It's the principal of the matter, plus something else had to be taken back. Plus £1.38 is valuable Z juice!

Not the first time this confusing offer thing has happened, and/or they got it wrong. I think I'll tell my friend to shop at Asda/Sainsburys/Morrisons then, not sure about Aldi/Lidl, never been there before...?

Sorry for the boring topic!

Hey Woody
Is "your views" a request for pictures?

nothing wrong with grocery shopping as a topic.

I always check my receipt to make sure all the deals are refunded at the end as I expected before I move off.
It is less hassle than returning to the shop later.

I was in said store the other week, behind a woman who's trolley load had almost gone through the till so in I stepped behind her with my half a dozen items, when her last item went through she handed the cashier some vouchers, problem now!!

She had bought a pouch of M&M's AND Minstrels!! The voucher was for M&M's only so she would have to cough up about £1.45 iirc, anyway she wouldn't so they had to fetch her some more and re-scan her shopping, the vouchers wouldn't work now as they had already been scanned so argument ensued, manager called and woman taken off to CS, 25 mins all in all for £1.45, I even offered to buy the minstrels for her :headbang: :headbang:

Shop at Waitrose.

Its not full of social dropouts, prams, kids, kids with kids, obese people buying massive packs of crisps, chocolate and coke, topless drunks in the doorway etc etc... plus the staff are professional, polite and after 6pm there's never a queue at the tills.

Maybe its just where the Tesco and Asda supermarkets are located, but they attract some real darwin failures in this area.

T2FFN there is a new Waitrose being added to York ring road, work has started. I know this because the InLaws are yapping like overexcited little dogs at the prospect.

A bit far for me, that's about an hr drive :driving:

I used to think it was expensive and for the 'posh types', but for a few extra pence here and there, its a much nicer experience. I guess if you can justify Shell V-Power for the car, you can justlfy a few extra £'s on the shopping bill for yourself!

I HATE T3sco. Lidl even provides better service now and their food quality is miles better. T3sco is scum of the earth.

I think they're alright. Always shop there despite the fact I have to drive past nearly all the other supermarkets mentioned previously! No, I don't work there either.
