Those moments..A picture says it all...(life bites content)

Don't have kid's myself and can only imagine how tough things have been or are going to be at times in the future but man you have my utmost respect  .

Twelve Months ...Twelve Faces ,,,
They change so much in the first year.
Keep that camera close by..
A tough job but the most fulfilling you can have..
Cause nothing else really matters..

In the blink of an eye he'll be asking for help with Law School ..
You'll be broke ..
But grinning at your achievements ...
That's when you can cruise in your Z
Top down, sun in your eyes ..
Wind in your hair (or what's left of it)
Sweet ride !

Any man can father a child but it takes a real man to be a Dad. Well done on stepping up to the plate. Cherish the wonderful times - they grow up all too quickly.

You should be very proud of yourself and him, hes gorgeous!
Women bring kids up on their own all the time and we don't get to hear much about men doing the same but of course there's loads of single dads too.

Hard work but so rewarding and everyone's right, make the most of him, he'll be a pain in the ass teenager before you know it!

wow again thanks everybody for such a positive repsonse, i think the hardest part for me was for men their is very very little support, so it was and IS a steep learning curve, the scary thing ANYbody can be in this position, its got soo much better , i wont lie, at the start i was crying like a baby reguarly with just pure frustration, many a night id be up 3 times then working and training from 6am, top off the baby was literally craving his mom, he just DIDNT want me, of course he wouldnt he just wanted the comfort of his mom,,,, jesus remembering those times... wow....

i wont lie i still have days where ill stop and think about whats happened and feel genuinely sad, still heartbroken i guess.... but finally...... light is at the end of the tunnel, the baby now sleeps all night, he just started to walk his first steps, and im slowly getting back to being myself..... thank god for helping me through.... i guess this situation will leave me with a very special relationship with my little boy..... i hope it does anyway.....

most of all its taught me a VERY important lesson about relationships..... you REALLY can be surprised by the person you spend to choose you life with....i will be very careful next time round.............

Nice! Very stylish. (That's because you live in Sutton Coldfield!)

Sounds like you've been through one hell of a journey... All credit to you sir, you're clearly a very busy and successful guy ALSO raising a child alone.

I take my hat off to you and wish you both the best of the world in your future.

Si

I clearly went into the wrong line of work!

Lovely home and one very happy looking son there mate :)

Total respect there Beedub, being a dad is definitely worth while, the best and most important job you'll ever had.

I brought mine up 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off between me & my X, & that was hard enough, glad you can see it's so worth it...

Stay safe fella

Well done Beedub - many men simply couldn't do what you have done. It's bad enough not being wanted by your son at first when you HAVE got a Mum for him... I always aspired to be the Dad mine was for me, couldn't work out what I was doing wrong, then realised that actually I was five before I have any clear memories of my Dad - for some reason nobody tells you how hard it is, or that you're pretty useless to the nurturing process for the first 6 months

Mrs Bing was 7 months pregnant when we moved 6,000 miles away from her family in KL to a one bedroom rented flat in East Dulwich in London, in November of 1999. My family are all in Scotland, my mother passed when I was 21, and we were only 26 so ALL of my friends were still out having a laugh, on the razz, not a care in the world - none of them had any appreciation of our situation, unsurprisinly. We had no place to go for help, and man were those three years hard, for all of us. If she'd come from Kirkaldy not Kuala Lumpur then I'm not sure we'd have stayed together. Everyone has a different story, but I do know at least one universal truth - when you get it right, even a little, it feels better than any fast car or big deal or mad adrenalin rush or great night out or any other material pleasure. You're doing one of the most worthy things it's possible to do with your life and you are doing it well - you are right to be proud

just stumbled on this thread....man how did you get keep that kitchen clean and tidy Beedub!!

Big thumbs up for stepping up as a man and a dad to your little one.....

Wow that's amazing mate. Top bloke.

First time I've seen this too. So how's it going 3 years down the line.?

Wow beedub thanks for sharing that inspiring story. You have done what many cannot even dream of. Full credit to you! Amazing.

Good luck - it's a tough road at times and I'm with Carol - lots of women doing this but good to hear a man responding this way.

Hope others get to read this and see the same - inspiring.

:driving:
