I wonder if the dealer knew the car had issues, but let it go out knowing that the warranty would cover the cost.Saves them loads in prep charges ,but really pisses customers off. 20 years ago I worked for a used car dealership that sold a Jag with a knackered steering rack,they had it welded up (bodged) and told the customer to bring it back a month later for it to be booked into the local jaguar dealer to be done unter the warranty they put on the car.Really poor practise, but I bet it goes on all the time.Shame you've lost faith in BMW, I've had mine for 3.5 years with no issues apart from a broken spring.
