Thinking of saying goodbye...

Good luck in whatever you decide but agree with navid.v. The rear end of the Cayman is simply ugly..fact :)

the cayman looks good in the ad. All the comments about why bother etc etc, as there is only one porsche, its a 911 blah, blah, blah. ignore it, if you fancy it go for it

Each to their own,but I think Cayman's are properly ugly. I very nearly bought a 53,00 mile 2001 911 tiptronic convertible with hardtop a few weeks ago,it was lovely, but it wouldn't give me anything my Z4 didn't and I KNEW it would skin me alive in servicing costs,so I talked myself out of it.If you want it mate, go for it and enjoy!!! :D

I understand your dilemma.

Drove a Gen 2 Cayman S recently. It was great. Astounding handling balance, poise, steering, brakes etc, etc. I also like the look of them, although not quite a much as the Z4MC.

But the cost to change to a reasonably well specified one was more than the full price of my car when I bought it. And even then I'd have lost some of the specification that comes as standard with the Z.

I really like the Z and have eventually managed to convince myself to resist the temptation. But every so often I remember the test drives.........

Good luck with the decision. You'll have a great car whichever way you go.

I looked at Caymans before buying my M and has already been said, they tend to be poorly specced. I don't know what spec your Z4 is, but this Cayman appears to have had just two options selected, that being metallic paint and the (hideous IMHO) 997 Turbo wheels. The half leatherette/alcantara option isn't an option, it's the standard, (according to my Cayman brochure) just that it isn't often seen as most people specced leather. Then there were extended leather options on top of that.

Nothing worng with having a car with no options mind you, and in fact I kind of like it but everybody bleats on about the fact that you can't sell a Z4M without Sat Nav even though it has leather, xenons, electric seats etc, etc so do bear in mind that this may affect you come resale. Great cars though.

When they start mentioning that it has airbags and e/w, etc then you know it's poorly specced...
