Darren (Slone) has got an A5 (as well as his ///M). He might be able to give you a good comparison.
Thinking about trading the Z4 in for an A5. Thoughts?

I had 3 audis 90,a4 1.8t,a4 2.0t quattro. the quattro was the newest most modern one and the most disappointing by far,yes it was a nice car roomy,comfortable,reliable etc but audi had gone backwards it was far slower and drank noticably more petrol than the 1.8t and it didnt have a sunroof either.
I had a loaner S5 last week when my Zed was getting a check-up.
I'm VERY tempted to part-X and buy the thing.
Was a superb ride, acceleration was by far better than my 3.0si Zed. Ate motorway for breakfast, took corners like a pole dancer.
Can't speak for the standard A5 though...

You can never tell how good a car is by its brand. All this talk about BMWs being the best handling, most feedback from the road etc etc is nonsense in my opinion.
Granted it is on certain models better than other models of other brands but for me each car has to be taken on its own merit. Add on to that your own likes and dislikes, requirements for a vehicle and only you can tell how good anything is.
Its the same as the age old question, whats my car worth? What someone is willing to pay for it.
How good is x car? We can tell you about its reliability statistics, we can give you other reviewers opinions, even our own, we can tell you about tech but we cant tell you what your experience will be inside one. Go drive it!

I had an Audi tt girls car. It was dull uninteresting and cost a or tune with electrical faults.
A guy I work with has one 3.0 I think not sure if its petrol or diesel? But his engine went pop at 65 k with a huge repair bill it was done badly and he needs more work to be done.
Although saying that my brother has a 645 has just had to have an engine rebuild number 1 cylinder had a problem not sure what but his wallet was 3 k lighter when he got I back!!!
Just have to drive one. I suspect you might find it a bit dull.
