Re: Need warranty work doing. 15quid for a loan car from dealer
by Beancounter1980 - 17 Nov 2009, 17:53

I honestly would drive anything if I had some form of transport while the car is in.

I was once given a pink convertible micra when I had to have work done a previous car.

Eitherway, ill head down with insurance docs and hopefuly they will waive the 15 quid.

I got a wedding to pay for next Jan!

Believe me when I say I will be literally living of crackers and water for the next two months!

Re: CSL Alloys - Bargain or Not?
by Beancounter1980 - 05 Mar 2010, 14:09

Each to their own...

I could never justify spending £1500 on a set of genuine alloys. I would rather spend that money on food/clothes.

MS Remap @ £495+vat = 255Bhp upgrade on a 2003 3.0i.....
by Beancounter1980 - 21 Oct 2009, 16:17

Including rolling road they want £495+VAT, plus i was told it was completely undetectable..

Anyway i still think that is a "good gain" on a NA engine. But i cant really justify the cost..

I can see you're a trusting chap, so, I wondered if you would be interested in buying some of my magic beans, PM for details  :)

Oh dear. Busted!

I'm thinking either a Lambo or a Ferrari. Maybe run it for a few years...dont know...i'll have to sleep on it to be honest.

For anyone curious, I invested very very heavily in the oil companies looking for oil in the Falklands. The hunch paid off...

Don't spend all your windfall on the purchase.

I hear tell that the servicing and running costs are astronomical. :headbang:

Think his post's above say all you need to know, anyone can photo a Lambo etc and claim it's their's

This is a chap who allegedly in May claimed to have bought equity's to the value of least £95k a few week's earlier (so say March) but in March he posted that he wished he had the funds for a clear light conversion, 3 month's earlier in November he wanted to save £15 on a loan car

Why do they do it :tumbleweed: there was a poster on another site who claimed to own an iS, but all he could upload was a BMW configurator photo  never heard from him again after everyone wanted him to upload a picture of his car.

That's where the custard test comes in.. it's not uploading any pic... its uploading a pic of a tub of birds custard, inside the car, with the keys in view. Pretty hard to fake, as no dealer will let you get in their demo with a tub of custard :P

This is probably the "most famous" custard test:

But - I'm not calling anything - I've no reason to really doubt beancounters legitimacy - I can think of many reasons why you can spend 95k on property, then have no available cash to spend on loan cars..

When I bought my second house, I paid 50k into it, but then lived of supermarket value beans for a few months, as I had no available cash.

It was spent buying shares, (not a house totally different) to put £95k cash into something like that means you must still have at least £100k+ left on deposit, are you telling me you would put £95k into one share when you had nothing left.

I've called b*ll Sh*t before on beancounter and he's never come back to defend himself

Now about my Magic beans :poke: :)

OK. Lets see custard and a trading account. That will settle it.

He did say he was keeping his Z and not buying any car (I think ,if my one brain cell is working)

I'm buying it instead, and I have 4 tins of custard in the cupboard as well. You see my Dad's Aunt died a couple of years ago (intestate) and the Govt in Oz finally found us (my Dad does not read his mail .. ) and the cheque will be here in a week or two.....

Update: Got a letter from the OZ govt, the amount is a wee bit less than expected so I had to cancel the order for the Lambo and look for a 2002 Z3M. Drat!

Oh well, that's life in the fast lane....

Pah, that is nothing. I can prove I have a DB9 - it is on my drive.

i just bought a veyron in pure gold, drove it back from dubai in a day. cant take snaps of it though as it has the same feature as romans mew yacht, small lasers which project from the car making photographs a little difficult.

i cant take a picture of it on my drive anyway as proof, as thats just been built 'extended', im having it made longer like the VW test track with a 6 mile straight run. as for custard i dont like it....

Anyway, got to go as i can hear my new helicopter being delivered !

Oi, what are you saying. That is a real picture of a real car on my drive.

just not my car

I dont get it, why would you bull S#*t about something like this :tumbleweed:

If the starter was tinged with untruth, as I think is being suggested, perhaps the motivation was simply to start a conversation about what car we might all chose to buy if we came into a lot of money, which is fair enough.

Your sincerely,
Mr D. Advocate.
