I've decided to keep the Zed for the foreseeable future. I'm going to bank the money though, and use it as and when..if need be..

I invested £110k.
RKH: Rockhopper (Bought 95k worth @33p a few weeks ago).....this rose to £2.79 a few days ago....still has a lot of legs left...
and
DES: Desire Petroleum (Bought £15k @49p ages ago).....this rose to 93p a few days ago..
I have so far top-sliced and taken around 50% profits and i'm playing with free shares now. Market Cap estimates the SP to rise to a probable £6-£10 at the very top end for RKH. I have sold all my DES Shares though..
However a lot of brokers are banging on about £10+ which is feasible....but i would not like to stress myself...

Congrats on what looks like a very sound investment, Beancounter. That's enough money to give you stability for life, if used wisely. A working wage + that must be excellent security

More importantly, i would just like to mention that i hope my credibility is still intact on this board. I value everyone's opinion on this board, and I enjoy the banter on here a lot. All who know me, know i grew up in an ex-mining town in a working class family, a town which has the highest drug use/unemployment in Northumberland.
Through education I bettered myself, and when it came to making the largest punt of my life - i got lucky....
For those interested, I have decided to keep the Z4 and i wont be buying another car. I think when i posted this i was caught up in the euphoria of the moment and to be fair i was confused about what to do with the money.
The share price could have (and still can!) go the other way on the remainder of the shares i have in the Oilys...
I will be making a generous donation to Help for Heroes, and paying off the rest of my very unwell/sick fathers mortgage. The rest? I don't know..

From one real life beancounter to another,.. sorry if these are trainspotter points but sadly this is the sort of thing that gets me excited on a daily basis.
1) When you say you 'sold at a loss then bought back in' what does that mean ? If you intended to keep the holding what was the point in selling then buying straight back at the same price Thats like saying you sold your house when it's price had fallen by 100k then bought it back again 5 minutes later for the same low price. Why would you do that ? eh ?
2) Were you already personally wealthy before you made this investment ? None of my business really , but it seems like an extraodinary punt to have gambled the sum of money you talk about on a stock which prior to the oil find could only be have been viewed as speculative at best by even the most aggressive and well financed investor, who would have bought it as part of a wider and more balance portfolio. Do you regularly invest very large sums in single holdings like this on the off chance they turn good ? If so have you lost hundreds of thousands on previous trades before you made this gain? Surely you aren't telling us this is a one off and you got lucky ?
3) Where you say something about 'any keen investor..may do well to invest'... (sorry, but) it seems a bit reckless to advise other readers on here to invest in a stock now which has already taken its gains. And like any stock, it has just has much chance now as before of going down in price rather than up. We wouldn't want somebody losing their life savings and getting into difficulties based on this sort of advice would we !?..
