Anyhow the decision is made....... VT2-500 is ordered with a larger fmic, and oil cooler, my american hommie made 512bhp on his with 100 octane, those APs are going to probably struggle....

i must stay strong and stay away from new cars, i vowed to never buy new again!!

coming up...

vt-500
Racaro PPs
Nitron coilovers
Hardtop _ Dooing something Realy cool with this :-)

500bhp in the z4m is going to be insane.

Strange decision but its your money. Have you had chance to exploit all the power in your current setup, unless you have been on some power circuits then I guess not. Are you not in real danger of overwhelming the chassis and producing something that is only drivable in a straight line and at the same time turning the "Ultimate Driving Machine" into something altogether different.

P

With a centrifugal sc setup boost builds with revs, i make peak boost at redline, so the power is so smooth its litterally like a v8 under the bonnet, im absolutly certain the car will be driveable just as much as vt1....

I love the fact throttle response is still instant, thers no drawbacks for the s/c i love it.

Ive had a year to expoit the power :-) Bear in mind vt2 only adds 2 psi but in the lower rev range, where ill really gain is torque, just what the s54 needs!!!

Strange decision?? Maybe to you, to me, natural progression!! Lol. 1900 bills vs 70k?? Kinda answered my own question. Lol

P.s im fully booked up on a vmax day shortly.

Why dont you go for the less is more approach and by that I mean rather than buy something that weighs two tons and has 600BHP get something that weighs 500KG and has 250BHP. P

I was on PH classifieds the other day looking at exiges.

Ph classifed are dangerous!!

I loved my z4m coupe, but now I've moved on and haven't looked back since. there's only so much you can mod the z4m and its the law of diminishing returns, better to move on and mod something which can apply and handle the power comfortably
If your getting offered late twenties for your car I'd bite his hand off and move onwards and upwards.
I'd go with gt3 though, more to learn, requires more skill and will keep you enthralled much longer than any gtr.

Why upgrade the power when you've barely exploited the existing setup? It seems more a numbers exercise in terms of bhp than tangible benefit. You'd be better off spending that cash on pro instruction and decent trackdays wouldn't you? I'm sure that would be more fun and instructive than another engineering project. Basically I don't see how blowing the engine further is going to help, just my 2 cents!

thanks for your 2 cents :-) i do 10+ trackdays a year?? compete properly once or twice a year in proper sprint championships, how on earth am i not expoliting the power?? your talking dribble man!! my driving is pretty good to be fair, im happy with it anyway!! lol, remember this isnt 50k, its 1900quid, really what do you get nowdays for 1900quid!! Ow well its done now, and im really looking forward to it, vmax is about 3-4 weeks a way, i'll try and get this on before then and get some top speed figures.

How did your Z4 fare against the GT-R...

MY z4m against the new GTR is definatly slower...... the old model mmmm not to sure on a rolling run, the new one is insanely quick for a stock vehicle.......

i easily did 3.5 to 60 in the new one by simply flexing my foot in R mode and launch control.

theirs a new my11 gtr going to the vmax so if i get it all in place, ill see where were going, unfortunatly for the last 7 months i havent had my camera girl with me we dont want her traveling aorund while im driving quickly on track ect ect, henc ive been going alone, so thats why my videos have dried up, its alittle unfair to drag her along to just watch me have fun....... lol

anyhow ive already done 2 tracksdays this year....... and have another booked for 29th april, vmax also very soon but awaiting dates from craig.

cheers toplad......

i have a very good, firm offer, a weathly bloke that wants a fast car for his son to learn in :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
money has never been a motivator for me though otherwise i would have done this already, feelings, fun, memories, family, friends mean so much more........

also guys ive just got the complete computerised version of the ess install manual for the vt1450-vt2-500, if anyone wants a gander shoot me your email and ill send out these install notes that come with pics and notes, i didnt realise during the initial install the engine had to be lifted/engine mounts removed and canted over :o :o :o

heres a e46 m3 running the exact same kit :-)

ok..... im going to try again and Shoot for the MY11 GTR..... but im going to keep the z4m, i want to pass it down to my son.

What im going to do is wait afew months and pick up a demo 2011 GTR with around 5-6k miles, hopefully someway off list......

On the other note ive just this second sent the funds for the vt2-500 kit :driving:

You only live once and with the stress of my job, im a long time dead so F it.

Cars at simpsons next month for a service so its great to tack on the vt2 install.

cheers for the advice guys!!
i really had a cracking offer for the z4m s/c............ but its not worth it.

 cool more Z madness :D

Might as well weld the doors, delock and smooth over the lot for added ridgidity? 500Bhp and all that torque will twist that chassis beyind the limits

I'm trying to weigh all this up in my head....I assume a blown Z4M is onpar with an M6? (Seen a few vids on M5board.com) Yet the M6 is considerably slower than the GT-R....In essence i just don't see the point, the GT-R that you have/had?! is better in every way than the BMW.

I kind of see where tjlazer is coming from in his post, doing 10+ trackdays and sprint runs does not make you a good track driver...I could take you round Knockhill as an instructor and your lap times would tumble, purely from proper direction in the same car.

Regardless of all this this you've already bought the upgrades, Seems a rather pointless thread imo! But hey, i will follow with interest.

the blown Zed is pretty much on par with an m5/m6 until the higher speeds where they will move ahead.... the v10 engined cars WILL put uptop on a stock pre MY11 gtr for sure...... from a dig the m5/6 will be murdered......The GTr does have some serious flaws as well that only hard use shows up, the my11 has answered those flaws.

Know-where in this thread have i stated im an excellent driver we can all learn things even professionals.... BUT i have alot of experience with circuit driving and high performance cars...... im very comfortable with my driving ability and dont feel i wish to spend my hard earned cash paying somebody to improve it .... the thread wasnt pointless in the begining as i hadnt brought the upgrades :headbang: lol

anyhow this thread is pretty much closed now....... im keeping and carrying on with the mods to the z4m and will be doing some work to the house to grab an extra garage space in the rear land of my house..... i will also being trying a few different vehicles to compliment the z4...... maybe a dedicated track toy would suit nicely, we will see, im trying a caterham r500 this weekend.

This thread should probably be locked now........ decision is made... and a piont was proved to me that modding your car doesnt have to loose you a fortune, if you do things properly someone somewhere WILL appreciate your work and offer the right money...... i would have been mad not to consider the offer and very nearly took it........

again everyone thanks for the input...... mods lock this thread, ill update my s/c thread soon with vt2 pics and updates.
