Done mine the other week. OEM for me I'm afraid

Did you just do them in situ Steve, or did yo utake them off and do it 'properly' ?

Where they are. Look fine to me, removed the spring clips and used a small brush. Didn't take long.

I saw pastrys efforts today in the flesh and to be honest they look better in the warm sunshine than I expected. Maybe it was sun stroke ! But I still think a slightly darker shade of red would be better but in all honesty, I think seeing both sides today I do actually prefer the red .

Pot, Kettle, Black ..... who was it again that painted the calipers in the wrong colour? :poke:

Gulp, I have only just re-painting my calipers red, but too afraid to share a picture now, because I liked them  and many don't.... Mind you I had silver calipers last year and they were good, but just fancied a change this season. I tend to do them once a year. Wheels off clean and repaint and check everything. It is a seasonal thing, so maybe I will try dark blue next year :driving:

A "yes" to the ruined question from me, I'm afraid - really dislike shouty calipers unless they have something to shout about... even then, only really bright green on the 918 floats my boat because of the car. Black, grey, silver for the rest.

If everyone was the same the world would be a boring place.

I'm tending to agree with you Tom and I'm a long way from ruling out red, might try a darker one! :o

That analogy doesn't really work...if the brakes were aesthetically pleasing to the eye (like the AP's) then 'what colour works best?' would be a matter of choice and opinion, then the analogy works. Reading into most folks view what we're actually asking is, why would you want to draw attention to the worst looking part of the whole car...?

To my eye, the brakes in red/blue/orange look like they've been taken off a chavved up fiesta...

Yeh i'm sorry to say I agree, I went for silver in the end after much debating on which colour. (not best pic as from my instagram but.)

I will mention this quietly before some one else does. Clean the wheels too. Before taking a photo of your lovely, shiny, freshly painted, Silver Calipers. :poke:

Which look great by the way. 8)

But you came out the closet ages ago Fred so no surprise :poke:
Everyone has different tastes and opinions and Im less blinkered than some. I think caliper colour is less black and white than just their colour. I like red but the one i used is too bright however, I also don't think the calipers are good enough to carry the red when paired with 224's as they are too exposed! This is why I will be going with the gunmetal finish. That said, I may change the wheels to CSLs and if I do, the calipers will be going red, but a darker red.... which I think suits the car .... and ford fiestas
