Thieves around.

From considerable experience, it matters not whether the car is a prestige model or not. If there is a demand for parts from a particular vehicle, then the thieves will target them to make money.

The car 'Strippers' in Yorkshire/Lancashire are highly organised, & skilled at what they do. They can strip a car in minutes - FACT.

The network in the North of England is vast, & these individuals have access to old mill properties tucked away in the mill towns that they can rent, & drop at a moments notice should they need to.

More recently the All in one entertainment systems fitted to the VAG cars were being targeted. Thieves can have them out in seconds & make good money selling them on.

Desirable cars will always be targeted, people want them whether they can obtain them through fair means or foul. Replacing broken parts, whether you are a decent hard working member of the public, or a criminal still incurs cost. As a result there will always be a black market for replacement second hand parts.

It is a thriving industry, fact, & that is why the gangs persevere, despite the best efforts of the Police to shut them down.

The police catch them - the courts say that they've been very naughty and slap them on the wrist!

Catch them, then birch them - politically correct or not!

"I'll probably be scorned for my lack of political correctness but watching just a few of the high profile thefts unfold in the media recently it because pretty clear what the demographic for high end car theft is.

You get joy riders and petty thieves everywhere but the recent car theft crime wave in the Midlands was all targeted by crime gangs with shopping lists from clients on the continent.

i wouldnt worry too much being an asian myself, i would hardly class your car as high end!

I wasn't really referring to cars like the Z4. More things like RR and the top end Porsche that are popular with thieves.

well again nothing for you and i to worry about and this kind of thing happens in every country. if you own a supercar or prestige car then you have to be extra vigilant just like if you have an expensive mansion. the rich are an easy target

Or in this case get over 5 years each.
