The Zed is dead

It pains me to type this after 2 months of ownership, but the MR is officially dead.

Left my company's Marlow office today 30 mins early to beat the traffic, and ended up being the crumple zone of a 6 car pile up.

Will post pics soon, but the car is definitely a total loss. Had a Focus ST wedged between me and the central reservation, shunting me into the car in front and then a van ran into the back of me, wiping the O/S rear out completely. Most importantly everyone was fine (miraculously).

What a waste of a 52k mile good example. No airbag deployment (FYI), which is probably the result of me not really hitting anything front-on.

What a shame - either a chance to find another interlagos MR or bow out gracefully.....
 
Gutted for you. :cry: Glad no one was hurt, life's a more precious commodity than even the best ///MR. Get the insurance sorted and get hunting. :wink:

Very sad to see and if its an consolation , you are alive and unmarked, which shows how tough the car is. I am sure when the gutted part of you heals a bit, you can search out another car and go again. :thumbsup:

Very true! Just a sore neck is my only real complaint. Very tough car indeed. Need to make sure the insurance company don't stiff me on its market value and then I'll get back on it :)
 
Wow, what bad luck, glad no-one was hurt and you're out without whiplash etc. Sorry to see the Zeds dead. Hopefully insurance will afford another.
 
Gutted for you and terrible to see such a lovely car with what looks like not a single panel undamaged. :(

No one has asked for first dibs on parts :tumbleweed: Guy on Cutters has asked who was involved as he saw the aftermath. Glad all 👌
 
Scary stuff! Push the insurance, make sure they pay for another like for like vehicle (they have to do that) and get back in the market for another MR..!

Glad everyone walked away from it :thumbsup:
