Obviously some are better than others.alex.baker1989 said:Am going to make sure I have 3 solid ads for like-for-like to prove valuation. Insurance company will no doubt try and pay a lower value as they always do.

Also, don't let them fob you off with a cheap hire car....they have to give you a convertible equivalent until the claim has been fully settled....and paid for by the guy who hit you insurance!

As others have said at least you walked away from it .... and for us E85 and MR owners you just have to be reassured about the level of protection the car offers - I assume the top was down when when it happened
As it's not your fault, and not your insurance that will be paying, then go for whatever 'courtesy' car you're happy with...unless you've got access to another car in the meantime, in which case they may think a courtesy/hire car is an additional, unnecessary cost.Angelus666 said:Also, don't let them fob you off with a cheap hire car....they have to give you a convertible equivalent until the claim has been fully settled....and paid for by the guy who hit you insurance!

If the insurance company writes the car off you should buy it back at the scrap value usually that’s around £200-£500. There loads of parts on that car worth more then that!!!!!
I myself would be interested in the lights and bonnet!

Somehow I think it will be a tad more than £500 to buy back but I like your optimism
