Hi Everyone,
I'll admit it's not often I feel compelled to get off my behind and do something worthwhile. After all it's so much easier in these days of Comic Relief, Sport Relief etc to let someone else do the hard work and just pick up the phone and donate a couple of quid.
I'm sure you'll agree that in this day and age Cancer has affected almost everyone one way or another. Because it has effected our lives we have decided that over 5 days in June Nosa and Jimmypop and I will be attempting to follow the path of Hadrians Wall starting at Segedunum Fort in Wallsend to its finish 87 miles away in Bowness on Solway, collecting en route the 7 stamps available under the Hadrians Wall Passport scheme and thereby qualifying for the completion certifcate.
We will be doing the walk unsupported camping at various locations along the route and carrying the tents, sleeping bags, food etc we need for the week.
To quote Nosa 'We have been planning this for a wee while now and with Carl's (cj_eds) recent passing it has focused my mind to complete this. I have lost both my parents and my mother in law to cancer, every little step taken towards beating cancer is a good one'.
We are trying to raise money for charity and are in the process of setting up pages to allow online donations, we are each supporting different charities and would appreciate any support you may be able to offer us, below are links to mine and Nosas pages, I'll add Jimmypops when he creates one.
My page in support of Yorkshire Cancer Research and Breast Cancer Campaign
Nosas page in support of Macmillan Cancer Support
Jimmypops page in support of The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and Cancer Research UK
Thanks again for any help you can offer us.
