Does anyone rate the just roadster wind deflector, had a quick read on the website but I am dumbfounded how it fits? Sounds like clear Velcro straps which I have never seen in my
life!!

Two brackets on the hoops, just slides onto those, and I don't rate the wind deflector either, but I keep it their so my mrs theoretically thinks its keeping her hair in place but it doesn't!!

Ordered for the second time on the 03/02/12...

Week 11 build week 13 delivered to the dealer.

Week 11 means you should be getting the updated top + any unannounced updates.

First buy will be a stubby although I do like my AM sports radio/5live etc. Not heard good things about the stubby's reception...

A stubby antenna could be a problem for AM. I doubt it would harm FM reception too much. The car radio has 3 antennas connected to a diversity receiver. The other antennas are hidden in the top and the rear bumper.

The stock antenna doesn't bother me.

Andrew, do you know if the updates can be added at the dealership?

Sorry, I don't. I also have no idea if anything is changing besides the top. All I've seen is a one paragraph note in straight six and a couple of short posts on websites.

The changes to the top include a stronger hydraulic system. I wouldn't want to have that amount of work done after assembly unless the top is faulty.

Updated top???

From page 8 of Feb Straight Six:

"BMW Engineers have enhanced the folding hard top roof with a reinforced hydraulic system so the roof can now be raised or closed at speeds up to 25mph."

The production change is rumored to begin on week 10. A week 11 car should have the updated top, but rumors are umm... rumors.

Oooo OK didn't know that, fingers crossed then...

Do you know if you will be able to close the roof from the remote key fob?

I don't know. I'd be surprised if BMW enables remote close. Two reasons:

The rear windows don't have pinch sensors.

The top draws up to 40A of current during operation.

Nah, nothing. I think it was built last week, hopefully selling my 1 series this week to a lad.

i still have to sell my Mini, no rush though :driving: just have to have 3 cars sitting @ my house

Its my optional extras that have set my car back. The folding mirrors have pulled the car back another two weeks. I will have the last laugh when I can hear my music though :driving: haha!
