The Waiting Game..

I hope the BMW gods are looking upon you favourably Keith (if only for selfish reasons as it means mine will come more quickly then!)

Dealer is supposed to do a PreDeliveryCheck as well as tax the car. They could do it same day. Our dealer said they will take up to five days before they have the car ready for us.

I got the following;-

2x Z4 Keyrings
1x Stubby
2x Bulbs

..... Car is due on the 18th of March

I dropped into the dealer on Tuesday and was informed that my car could be at the dealership as early as the 29th of this month. Which made me :D
Add on maybe a couple of days for the PDC and whatever else they need to do, I'm hoping my car should be ready for pick-up by 2nd or 3rd of March.

Another one to join the waiting list - finally ordered mine today with estimated delivery around mid-April

It's going to seem like a long wait!

How does the 7 weeks compare with what you guys were quoted from order to actual delivery?

Bet you can't wait now Keith.. Hope the next few weeks fly by for you.

I seriously can not wait, I am extremely excited about getting my first brand new sports car! I wanted the car to be really special so I just bought myself a private reg plate with KE12 TH contained in it.

I think the weeks won't fly because I sold my car on Monday night so I am being picked up in 150k limousines or buses as people call them usually!

You had any luck selling yours?

I placed my order on 26th Jan and as said above, it might be at the dealership by 29th Feb. So could be just over 5 weeks from order to delivery in my case.

Nice! Hope they can shave a couple of weeks off mine too then. Start of April would be a nice time to get the car - just in time for the couple of sunny weeks we seem to get in April that normally constitutes a Scottish summer! :D

Just got a call today that the boat has arrived at the dock here in the US, and my Z4 should be at the distribution center tomorrow. It took exactly 2 weeks to cross the Atlantic. It is now less than 50 miles from the dealer, less than 40 miles from my house. It should be in my hands early next week. I've read through the manual twice so far. My 17-year-old son is almost as excited as I am (but he doesn't read instruction manuals).

We ordered ours 29 January. It is scheduled for a week 9 build and should arrive at the dealer during week 12. Dealer says it will take them about five days to get the car ready for delivery. If all goes to plan, we should have the car sometime in the last week of March or 9 weeks after we placed the order.

New Jersey or Georgia? Sounds like they've really cut down on the amount of time cars sit at the port.

New Jersey. The sales advisor told me he asked them to expedite the process (I don't know how much if any influence he has), and it was his estimate that it would be early next week. What is the usual time cars remain in the port and VDC?

Our 2007 X3 spent about 2 weeks at the Port of New York and the New Jersey VDC. I don't know what normal is now.

The Z4 is making a much shorter trip across the English Channel.

What is the local delivery process in England? Is there a VDC?
