So when does does your current car go in if the new car isn’t available until June?

Will just part ex it at the time Ron, obviously the sooner the better :|

Dealer said hopefully it will arrive before June but it has to take the slow boat from Turkey 🇹🇷 so not banking on it.

Tim.

The £’s are sealed and agreed tho?

Price of the new car is when ordered but any part ex value will be whatever it is at the time its traded in.

Tim.

June 2024, Tim? By then your part ex will be worth about £10!

Cancel the order and buy a 'proper' hot hatch:

They could have you over a barrel by the eventual delivery time!
They could (and probably will) offeryou peanuts for your trade in and your only option would be to reject that offer - they won’t be bothered as they will have new stock to sell immediately at the April 2024 price - happy dealership!

Or is that me just being a cynical old git?

Afraid they don't do anything for me  plus it's an old car

I was banking on it being a 12 months wait anyways Ron, just be nice if it does arrive sooner.

Thing is they won't have new stock of the i20N, the one I've bagged is already the dealers only order which was supposed to be their demo and that's taking 12 months to arrive as it is.

I don't think anyone gets a good deal trading in. The only slight plus pre trade in is I bought the car for 10k end of PCP balloon payment back in May and was worth around 15k trade in so slightly up as of now anyways

That is maybe because you haven't driven one! The best fun you can have with your clothes on in 2023! :D

I’m sure the car is fun and very well screwed together - but I couldn’t live with that bootlid spoiler - I didn’t buy a Subaru many years ago for the very same reason.

Maybe try a Hyundai N model Pondrew you might be pleasantly surprised 8)

I've not tried the Honda, I'm sure it's great fun but then if buying new current prices are creeping into better car territory I reckon.

Received a surprise update today, looks like the car will be built by Friday this week and will arrive in the Country by the end of the Month and due at the dealers by 24th November :) A bit of a move forward from delivery June 2024, hopefully. Perhaps the workers have had a raise :)

Tim.

It's finally arrived :) Delivery times were all over the shop from being told January 2024 to then June 2024 and then suddenly was due to arrive 24th November just gone, then 29th November and then 5th December  Was starting to think it had been lost. Suddenly then turned up last week so collected today just in time for Christmas.

Initial impressions are good, so many driving parameters it's mind boggling, alot to learn. Chassis is super stiff so will be looking forward to stretching it's legs.

Not a great day to pick up weather wise, every tree and wheelie bin  but incident free.

 made me laugh,

Can't remember what I had at 18, think it was a bus ticket  first car at 19 was a 1979 Toyota Starlet 1.2 in Kermit Green  for the princely sum of £2400 :o felt I'd gone up in the world.

You must have been a late starter!

At 18 I got a twin-cam Fiat 125 for about £400 after a year of misery in a 1967 MK2 Cortina banger. :(

Passed my test at 17 and used my dad's car at the time which was a Toyota Carina, my brother had a Toyota Celica ST, wasn't jealous at all :)
