you have the distinct advantage of having a well worked example beedub, looks great :) think I'd find selling the Z a much harder concept if it had been tweaked so perfectly

Those wheels look huge to me, but wow. Lovely looking motor.
What are they and do they work on the 3.0si.

sorry buddy missed your question!.

Wheres the are very rare o.e 18s from the v8 m3, the euro 260m versions made by cromodora, not the 219m which you will see more of for sale but look very similar. In short no way will they work on non //M to work on ///M you need very aggressive alignments ( track based) for them to work at the front, the rears are perfecto but still aggressive. They look so so so good on the car but sadly the fitment, cost and rarity make them a rare see on z4s. Which is great in a sea of CSL type wheels.

Rumours are bound of a spyder gt4, if you assume all the chassis changes from gt4 are applied to the spyder, surely this will be a sensible investment? (Which you have to obviously drive to maintain working condition of course)

Time to raid the pension pot and put a name down at the Porsche dealers?

serious investment id say!! wouldnt surprise me if all are allocated for certain pop, i.e we have no chance even if you were to stump up the mega doe that the car will be!! The roof is off my car right now and I'm really enjoying it tbh.

Went and sat in the F-Type today - think i prefer it to the GT4 in looks, wait to see if it's as FUN to drive (Whether refined or not)

Spyder roof in action!!

Very lightweight solution here, wish the Z4s was the same!

Annoying to have to do - but impressed they stuck to their guns and went sports car first, convenience second. Still makes me think hairdresser, i can't help it :(

Deffo GT4 fan though, gona go see if i can find one to sit in when possible!

Oh come on that's such an outdated and total inaccurate stereotype of any roadster driver let alone Porsche ! Have many of us ever seen many 300+bhp roadsters being driven by an actual hairdresser (male or female and to whom I mean no disrespect) ? How about some original thinking and opinions !

I agree Jax, a hairdressers car it is not. And I further agree about showing me a hairdresser to drive such a thing!!

I'm not saying it's not an innacurate stereotype, i'm just saying it's what i (and what ~most people, petrolheads or not) think too. I get it, it's a dangerous comment on a Z4 forum - though the Z4 is more aggressive than boxters/SLKs.

I guess these days (at high end boxter prices..) it's less hairdresser and more salon-owner. Clearly the car ISN'T a hairdressers car, it just looks like one :) :fuelfire:

There's no original thinking to be had, it's a body style with a bad rep, albeit probably one of the best, if not the best, balanced drivers car you can buy - but this has no impact on it's image outside of the small-roadster-fanclub though.

honestly this hairdresser thing is actually becoming an embarrassing comment to make, and tends to originate from people that are either jealous, can't afford the vehicle and just seem to want to bring it down a peg or two or just uneducated...

I'm sorry you guys have only ever met people with differing opinions who are repressed, poorer than you, jealous and yet to sit their GCSE's. Either that or i'm sorry you feel that's the best way to respond to an opinion you don't like, shared by many or not.

I'd love to stress, in my opinion, this is purely an design and image thing and not at all reflective of the car's capabilities (quite obviously), but i fear that would go entirely ignored and someone might just jump straight to personal insults... oh wait. Well done guys

Maybe we can just go back to keeping this thread on topic..

Ok Jimmy point taken mate, and maybe the previous, post went a little far, but it's far from the hairdresser comment as you can get....its a decent car, looks bloody good too, and no denying its image and build, let alone driving capability, is far better than nearly anything else in its class.

But as you said we are all entitled to our views.......

A very capable hand surgeon once told me that my Coupe was a hairdresser's car. I told him that he was an irritating dick. We didn't like each other very much and that conversation didn't help, but I could comfort myself in the certain knowledge that his comment was nonsense. He had no such comfort.

Edit - for fear of opening an unintended can of worms, that wasn't aimed at any of the people who posted above
