the new cayman/boxster GT4

The 2.7 is a damn fine car. It's not exactly a slouch either. Really nice way into Porsche ownership.
A perfect example of less is more. Harder to deal with on a daily basis because you've got to work with the engine, but far more rewarding engine on the twisties because of it.

There was a 2014 Cayman GTS on a track day I attended yesterday. It was pretty quick (nearly as fast as me 8) ) but the gigantic wheels looked totally ridiculous, especially with discs that looked comparable in size to mine. It reminded me rather of the cartoon E89 in the forum banner but with milk bottle tops for discs.

Interesting again on the GTS - if I strip all my non-mandatory options from the GTS but considering some are of course inlcuded in the GTS package, and going for flat paint (white or guards red) but leaving PDK included (assuming I will want that when I try one), the difference between my spec mentioned above and a GTS is a little over £6k only. I don't dare look at the GT4 as that might do my head in :). When you consider my spec is on the 2.7 is only for 18"'s and doesn't have xenons (std on GTS) that's really food for thought. A couple of options I can then add at a later date if I decided I wanted them, notably PTV (LSD)

I am interested to see how much discount you manage. My experience with Porsche, buying a Cayenne,it's not very much.

interesting....

You'll get tops £500 off, ad that even if you're lucky
Think that would probably be the case for a GTS but I think you're more likely to get a decent discount on the others I reckon, as long as not poverty spec cars. WHen for example red seatbelts cost £179 extra I'm really sure they can either throw them in for free or reduce the overall package somewhat when a car has quite a few extras added already :). A digital radio is £324 extra too! It's not as if you are buying the extra's in addition to the std items - they replace them, so £179 to upgrade from black seatbelts to red? come onnnnnnn :).

Wont be buying if pricing not negotiable. Could aim for minimum options but as a once in a lifetime treat (I doubt I will buy new again), I would want it to my spec if I get go with the base model.

Hi Darren I'm pretty sure you won't get a big discount and it also depends if you got a part ex or not.

When I was buying my one and then I managed to pull out the deal the maximum I got off was £1000

It's a great driving experience though nothing will prepare you for how precise these cars are. It would be my automatic choice if I had the funds now

id MUCH much rather have this than a cayman GTS imo!! and i think this spyder is better than the new one, all it needs to PCCB to be perfect!

so so so perfect, apparently you can fit loads of GT3 bits to them too! I'm in love!!

nice walk around of the spyder.

7.k redline.. i love the look of this thing! totally beautiful !

went to collect my new macan S from having its private plate fitted....
this was utterly gorgeous . wheel offset seems way off however they just didn't sit right, but the colour was to die for !! but jesus mega money !

Why buy the Macan? Just push towards this in 6-12 months?

also kind of surprised by the 0- 60 time. Not really that extraordinary for the money. Should be 15k cheaper.
