the new cayman/boxster GT4

If you have a Cayenne, then sell the Fiesta and put the money towards a GT4? Can't think what roll a Fiesta plays in that fleet. Cayenne for family and work duties, Z4M/GT4 for play..

the fiesta was purchased by me as was the z4m as are any of the FUN type vehicles that I've owned, i couldnt get to the full amount of the GT4 in the spec i wanted without loading myself to the limit as at one point we wasn't even aware of the price for the car / was unable to get one anyway so blew a good chunk of my fun car savings fund, on a fun hot hatch for a driveway car and it was a great great decision, i love it, its FUN in a way i just haven't experienced in motoring terms for a long time, its also changed my outlook on cars in general. Its reminded me that headline power just isn't the be all and end all for me anymore, i also WANT a fun less serious FWD/4wd hot hatch in my ownership the smiles it offers is huge and is AS fun as the z4 just in a different way and offers mega practicality too without having to worry about where its parked too :-) I'm very lucky to have some very tasty company vehicles at my disposal however which is the cherry on that cake.

we are going WAY off the subject anyway now so lets keep to the GTS/GT4 talk.

Where I'm currently at is borrowing a GTS for the sake of seeing how good it is i clearly outlined this wasn't the car I'm interested in but they said just try it so I'm not going to say no am i?, if i could get a GT4 for 70k even if i had to not have the ideal spec id move over, That would take a good chunk of financing but id be comfortable with that. Im at a point where i keep the Fun car for 8+ years so it would be worth it for me, the fiesta will be just run into the floor now and enjoyed by myself and maybe my partner if she wants to use it as she seems to love the thing.

If i got the right money for the z4, which i personally think i can, and the GT4 doesn't sky rocket then their is a very rea possibility this may still happen. Lets see. :)

I'm hearing allocation of 4 GT4s per Porsche Centre ..... :o over the next two years

mine had 4.... so even if i WAS in a position to stump up 78k for the car i spec'd i simply couldnt get it anyway and would NEVER have got one, they plainly told me that, they had priority customers, wasn't even about order of deposit, they actually went through the pile and selected who had the cars or shall i say who the wanted to have the cars.!

but I'm hoping, maybe alittle optimistic that they fall slightly for alittle bit, firm and then go up... The CSL did, so maybe this will as its an awesome car BUT..... its no GT3. I'm interested to see what they do value wise.

I think they'll go up in price, like the GT3/1M's, especially with waiting lists like that, it'l be years before they drop below new prices.

everybody thought that about the CSL... look what happened to them initially to where we are now.

If I remember correctly, with the CSL they had to throw big discounts at it to shift them, certainly not the case of the GT4.

I think the GT4's will go up in value initially by £5k to £10k. Sadly people will be buying these as a means of making quick money due to the supply\demand.

I don't think the GT4 will be available at anything other than list or a premium to list for a long, long time. The interesting thing will be if it has any effect on 996 and 997 GT3 values. People bought back into these when they heard that the 991 was a PDK non-Metzger car. The prospect of a newer, manual GT car may result in a softening of these values now. He says hopefully.....

Hmm.... But it doesn't have that engine that was built by only Le Mans winning mechanics in a secret clean room at Weissach.

I thought 997 GTS prices would soften when the 991 GTS came out, why I was a bit circumspect about paying the premium over a Carrera - I was wrong - they've held firm.

id happily jump on one of those over a GT4 every day of the week, NEEDs to have the 3.8 for my commitment, id guess this will be much more in my price range. 55k? I have no problem with properly focus'd/honed designed from the off roadsters. The are motoring nirvana to me. It REALLy needs the spurred roof however, literally no weight and looks awesome to my eyes. Porsche have nailed this current line-up.

Duno what it is - but i have something against the idea of owning a Boxter, GTS/Spyder/GT4/GT3 or not.

I'm a snob. :(

i honestly can't understand that mindset, but each to their own i guess!
