Trouble is.... you could be waiting years for the perfect spec GTS to appear, there are just sooooo many options compared to when the ///M was on sale and I'm a fussy bugger :)

What isn't clear, with the facelift due later this year, is when will production of the GTS stop? Usually they are just a one year parts bin special oh and as I'm sure you're aware, the 981.2 will be 4 cyl turbo :cry: :cry: :cry:

Gwatson, you seem to be very active in this thread, and i FEEL, that you possibly could be heading in the GTS direction at some point... Whats your thoughts on the z4m Vs the GTS range?? and What exactly would you WANT in your GTS spec??

Anyway I'm going to head into the garage to spend some time with my Z4 and give it alittle pampering. :driving: :driving: :driving: :driving: Im looking forward to a weekend with it, weathers looking good so i plan to have some fun!
 
Well it will also be my ///M's replacement for sure. Quite simply there isn't anything else on the market that remotely appeals. So yeah, I've been dreaming.... a lot.... For me it won't be for another 1 to 2 years so will potentially sell up next summer and sit refreshing the approved used cars every 10 seconds for 6 months lol

IF I was ordering new it would be:

Boxster GTS, Guards Red, PDK, black leather interior, Buckets, PTV, Sports Suspension and Bose.

I wouldn't discount a Boxster S spec'd as above plus PSE, 15bhp isn't that important and I'm sure the front bumper can be fitted to the S.

Oh and I parked next to this at the weekend, it's the darker red.... Alcantara interior is beautiful, but probably not practical enough for me :wub: :wub: :wub:

That is awesome - I was in JaxZ4s Boxter S at the weekend and it's gorgeous and he has all the high spec gear in it PTV, PASM .... PSE .
 
Funnily enough it's just had two coats of Zymol wax on it today - I'm out for a run with a C4S and 981 on Thursday so I will post some up from the run.

What spec would you go for?

Do you not think you'll miss tuning\mods?? The GTS won't need the same levels of fiddling to make it work, unlike our flawed, but cherished ///M's :) :)

The tuning world also isn't the same, no supercharger kits, final ratio options etc.

i would like a GT4, Club sport package carbon bucket seats ( MUST) , PCCG, PCM, sport chrono, pcm, top level HIFI.


Ive had so much fun tuning the z4m and its made is so so so good, real adjustability and real performance, BUT..... actually i think its alittle TOO far, after seeing just HOW much fun I'm having with 200hp in my ST i can honestly say, the z4m just is scary when pushing on, always on the edge and always having to pick your moments where you deploy all that power. I scratched a major itch with the z4m and that was to tune one car without limits to the max, I've been their, I've done it and I've more importantly loved every single minute of it, but i would never do it again, if i owned a GTS, GT4 or spyder i would not touch the power plant, id just get the suspension setup the best possible and ENJOY.

Cant lie though i love tinkering, infact I've just come in from the garage after a 1.5hr tinker!! lovely!
 
So in Porsche Centre Aberdeen enjoying some coffee this morning whilst the rear lights were being changed out on the 997 ( warranty claim due to fogging) . Apparently local PC all sold out on GT4 and they got 4 allocated. simply stunning Cayman GTS in the showroom in Carrera White with carbon pack and bucket seats - fantastic interior---- but 70K .
