35.7 mpg is amazing though. Were you slipstreaming behind artics? :lol:

I had a wet trip home from a weekend in Cumbria down the M6, M5, M42 and M40 in 2023 and after all the roadworks mine was showing 31.0 mpg which surprised me. Then I got to the M40 and just couldn't help myself!

HOW have you got mid 30s?! Mine does have a shortened final drive now but I've never seen more than about 28 even on a run!

Congrats on the new car and getting it home! Must be jolly exciting to get back into another M, hope you get many smiles per gallon out of it

Even with a 4.1, mine still averages 32-35mpg on the motorway if I am gentle.

Great purchase, by the way, OP. As good a spec as it gets!

Bit of an update, the car has been completely polished and ceramic coated. Also the aero skirts have now been fitted.
