I have noted this comment and will bring it back to haunt you when you sell.I only write on here because I know one day I am going to have to sell my car and I don’t want to be considered a newbie just trying to get a free advert.

No worries about that at all. I for one wouldn't contribute half as much if I didn't think people were using the info.Though some of us are new here, we're not new to forums, and can behave accordingly.
Over the years I've been a regular contributer to multiple, starting with SXOC almost 20 years ago. I've landed here precisely because I prefer this sort of place than the FB groups (as useful as they can be) and I look forward to hopefully making and actual contribution at some point, even if I'll certainly take more than I give in the early stages.
Never say never - we do now have a forum member who has bought one!Be good to have a Z8 for sale thread
Google it and find out (not on your work laptop)@bigfootisblurry, is the SXOC, an acronym for the sexy x-rated orthopaedic club? And if it is, I bet this place is quite tame or lame in comparison![]()
Ahem! I suspect I’m the only qualified “member”!@bigfootisblurry, is the SXOC, an acronym for the sexy x-rated orthopaedic club? And if it is, I bet this place is quite tame or lame in comparison![]()

I'm not a 'member'; just a bell-end.You keep your member to yourself Richard, no one wants to see that surgically enhanced thing wafting around the place making a nuisance of itself…..
…..can’t speak for Sars mind….who knows….
….or Pondy….![]()
This forum is not just a 'knowledge and info database', it's much wider than that IMO. It is also a very sociable place where many people can discuss almost anything without being overly-moderated.I also found it an interesting read. I'm quite new here and have found it helpful- but I have noticed that, in comparison with the previous forum I was on (Nissan Elgrand, different kind of vehicle!), the tone here tends towards the acerbic at times.
I suspect you may be correct @BMWZ4MC, though there are for sure quite a few boneheads other than @john-e89 and @Pondy on hereYou keep your member to yourself Richard, no one wants to see that surgically enhanced thing wafting around the place making a nuisance of itself…..

I agree, having been on here 18 odd years, it’s the friendly nature and banter that keeps me coming back as well as the knowledge I gain and get to share. This forum is not just a 'knowledge and info database', it's much wider than that IMO. The original post was just one person's 'take' on the forum. I see it as something completely different. That's because the OP and I have wildly different personalities and wants from the forum. Both are right IMO, as the forum can be whatever you want it to be.
That is what makes it interesting, popular and successful.
Too many car forums adhere too much to the 'technical questions and answers' only mandate. That is a recipe for exactly the type of through traffic this thread is discussing. It also makes it uninteresting to get involved in. IMO.
