The last thing you want to see when driving

Looks like too much shadow....has to be towed. Besides if the truck was stopped....no way he could of snapped a picture at 60mph and that close. Well he could but he'd be following up with a wrecked car post :) Awesome pic though....

But lets think about what you could do!
Well your lanes are open (at least in front of you) so you could give a quick boost of power and swerve around but rpm is a bit low for super quick acceleration. You couldn't come to complete stop in time, so IMO swerving is the best option.

I was talking with a few people at work one day, and I don't know if i'm a rarity or was just trained on driving right....but most of the people in our little group didn't routinely think about what to do if the vehicle in front or some other obstacle happened in front of them while cruising on the highway while they were driving. I'm all the time keeping a scan and keeping an idea of who is on my sides in case I have to do some emergency procedures.

G'day JetBlackZ, I noticed you've got a Garmin satnav on your dashboard - just wondered what you thought of it? I'm looking at buying one myself, a Garmin that is, probably the nuvi 260W but I was curious as to whether the internal speaker was sufficiently loud with roof up or down? How is it for re-calculating a new route? I've done some research on the Mio, Navman etc, and while they may be good, I kinda feel the Garmin has it for some reason. Apparently the Garmin's don't have a day/night feature where you can tone down the illumination - is it a problem for you?

Thanks mate,

Phil

Well if it's not being towed the last thing I would do would not involve taking picture... :P

I have gone through a few different Nav systems and by far my Nuvi 360 is the absolute best( paid $250 US shipped). I can not say how their other models are but it does recalculate routes well and it switches to night mode when the sun is about to set so the brightness is not a factor. The direct sunlight readability is also really clear( very important in a convertible) . The voice prompts are probably the only weak point when you have the top down it is hard to hear. It does give the commands on the top of the screen with brightly colored arrows showing you where to turn so if you do not hear it you can always look and know your next turn. You can also customize the vehicle like I did mine is a Z4 and change the voice prompts Ozzy Osborne is one of the many you can change it to.
A big thumbs up and I did a bunch of research after my last turd of a nav and everyone that commented said this particular model was the best in that price range .

BTW to all asking how I shot it yes the truck was being towed but I could not pass up the opportunity to snap a pic I thought it was way too funny.

I have had my Nuvi 650 since last May and love it. I bought the upgraded maps in January.

Hey JetBlackZ and Shipkiller, thanks for the feedback on your GPS experience, I'm hoping to pick up the 260W tomorrow but they're rare as rocking horse exhaust at the moment. Let you know how I get on.

Cheers,

Phil

Guys, quick update, got the nuvi 260W yesterday and tried it out. What a great little device it is, glad I got it.

Cheers,
