The July 2010 Photo Competition - COMMENTS GO HERE

Let's make it a real photo competition......NO photoshop (or equivalent) and image must be 100% your own. To give the old guys an edge we could say it has to be a "film" image not digital, scanned in of course. That ought to help us eh Kryton.? I'll dust off the 6x6 and get some film out of the fridge.... :D :D :D :D

Darn, I'm going to have to remember how to load the bugger ......and put a new battery in the light meter.... and
I'm not sure who develops film for my Bronica any more, medium format was difficult to get done at the best of times..... :? :?

Anyone up for a pic of my thumb....or the back of a lenscap?

Nah, I just need an excuse to get the 6x6 off the shelf and go play. I like the big old "real" cameras a lot better then the digitals but it's a royal pain trying to get the negs developed. My old man has all the darkroom equipment in his bsmt. (He's 86 now so it's all piled up and dusty... and and it's all B+W, no colour ) Plus I've been putting off getting a new scanner for a while now but maybe this is the time.

I would go for that since I still have 2 Nikon film cameras and an Omega B-22Xl enlarger. However, let me point out what we did in the darkroom was in effect photoshopping... :)

Excellent idea using 35mm. It's been a long time since I last dusted off my SLR too.

Just did a search. I'm amazed as to how the film and developing costs have fallen.

Brownie on standby :poke: :)

I hope you are all joking, i mean we all live in the digital age dont we? Infact ive got an even better idea, lets scrap the Z4's and all drive around in Triumph Spitfires! What a great way to get to the summer holiday in skegness. No telly tonight tho because the miners are on strike! Infact im not even writing this because the internet hasnt been invented yet!

This is what happens when we let the old timers get out of control. Send them to bed with a mug of Horlicks and 2 Temazepam.

Well, I'm not setting my darkroom back up and that's for damn sure... :!:

Hey, what's your problem with Horlicks ????

I checked yesterday on film developing costs....sh*t, develop a roll of film or buy new wheels for the car ...the costs are out of this world now. I can afford to shoot a roll and get a contact sheet or go to B&W only and set up the darkroom.....it's nuts.

As for dodging a bit in the darkroom, that's not photoshopping, its.."creativity and image control".

Ok I give up, digital it is. But I'm gonna do some 120 roll film anyway , just for fun...

Is it just me, or does it appear that some people have completely ignored the fact that the theme is reflections this month? :?

I drove all the way to the Alps to get mine!

I only drove 10 KM round trip to the greatest American Muscle Car Show. Took my photo in front of the Fleetwood Museum (inside one can find the greatest Cadillac car collection in North America).

Driving to our Canadian Rockies would take 6,000 plus KM round trip for me (taking a long road trip at the end of this month, I may have some more shots later on). I must say I did reflect when I took my picture as to how many dollars worth of Cadillac cars are in the Museum behind my Z4 :)

Does this mean you have finally submitted a photo that has something remotely to do with reflections? :D

mcbeee, most don't even know what dodging is I bet... :P

Dodging? button in photoshop innit? :D

Maybe...but we're talking about standing in a dark cluttered room with an enlarger and some print paper and performing feats of magic on ordinary photos to turn them into works of art that Ansel would be proud of....
