They have shut themselves away for over a year. Stopped their education, their careers (within reason), not seen their friends, lost their jobs.

Simmer down boomer. Take a walk in another man's shoes before you judge him.

Exactly - at least things have only been postponed for 23 years olds.

But for plenty of others like my Mother who passed away last November they'll never have that chance again.

My mum had the same problem.....plus the Germans were dropping bombs on her at the same time.

To paraphrase.
"They shut themselves away for 6 years. Stopped their education, their careers, had their friends killed or maimed, lost their jobs and had their houses destroyed.".......but they survived, as will this generation when they finally wake up.
 
To compare the Covid crisis to the second world war shows how far a few people have their heads up their backsides.

I don't want to get all factual on you Boomers (but i will)- It's clear to see that the majority of you have the inability to do any research or contemplate anything that don't fit your own narrative (fear, fear, fear) but if you did you would clearly see that there have been more over 80's that have died in a day than anyone under the age of 60 (as of a week ago 697 under 60's without pre-existing conditions died within 28 days of a "positive" test throughout the whole crisis).

So if you really think that you are helping them rather than them helping you- then you are crazy.

Total of 11 Hospital deaths (within 28 days of a positive covid test yesterday)- you guessed it- all over 80 years of age.

99% of the population who are at risk have had their 1st jab now (and guess what- the deaths are now none existent). I think the young chap was right in what he said (I would have put it in a slightly different way) but why shouldn't he get on with his life now? If you are scared- hide away. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

Isn’t the “Boomer” the term for the the children of men and women who fought in WW2? I believe it is - and if so, we are the generation who did not have it as easy as you young pups think!

So please don’t bleat about how tough you’ve had things!
There are many on this forum who can spell our what tough times really are.

(I see this was wrongly attributed in a previous post)

You can even squeeze your mobile and verbally ask siri or Google if you don't want to type.
 
The plane my granddad was in, got shot down during world war 2 and he spent years in a prisoner of war camp. I sadly can’t speak for him but from what he told me, this virus isn’t even close to comparing to what he personally went through during world war 2.

I cringe every time I hear the comparison and I think it’s disgraceful to even compare the two.

As for certain age groups being selfish, it’s clear (to me at least), that people across all age groups have been behaving selfishly all the way through this. From what I’ve witnessed, teenagers and pensioners have consistently been the worse offenders throughout.

Teenagers know no better/are relatively safe but apart from now they’ve had the jab (see link below), I’m
not sure what excuse the elderly have / had.

I would have thought that considering it was them we were all locked down to save, the least they could do was return the favour.

From people I have spoken to they say that a lot of the elderly who are going about their business as normal, meeting up with grandkids etc say that they want to carry on as normal as they dont know how much of their life they have left so want to enjoy it as much as they can without missing out.

I dont know what to think. I can slightly see their point.
