More than four in five people who said last December they were either uncertain about or intended to refuse a Covid-19 vaccine had changed their mind by February and had accepted a jab or planned to, an analysis has found.

Researchers tracked responses of 14,713 adults in England and Wales over the two months, finding that the change was consistent across all ethnic groups and all levels of social deprivation. The results are encouraging given minority ethnic people have been hit hardest by Covid but are among the least likely to take up the vaccine.

I booked through the NHS website and got my first dose in February, second to be at the end of April. Fine.

The other day I checked through the website and found that the system believes that I didn’t turn up for the first dose and has cancelled my second one. I’ve spoken to NHS who are totally confused, my local GP is sorting it out for me now.

So, today I had the jab. Why? Pressured into it by my family. Did it hurt? - no. Any side affects? - none. How do you feel about it? I don't give a sh*t. Any benefits? I had a nice 15 mile drive through the countryside. Lid down, sun out.....

How do you feel today? It took a day or so for my dad to feel a bit under the weather but not everyone gets side affects

Interesting although its worth mentioning that the figure of >80% comes from only 1,432 people not 14,713 as suggested at the top of the article.

"For instance, 25- to 35-year-olds were almost nine times more likely to intend to refuse a Covid-19 vaccine in February than over-75s, even after accounting for factors such as sex, ethnicity, deprivation and underlying health conditions."

I wonder if people who originally voted in this poll have subsequently gone back and changed their vote if they’ve changed their minds, one way or another as the figures on here haven’t really changed iirc.

I am under 60, and my chances of dying from Covid-19 are 400 times more likely than someone aged 5-17 years. Let me say that again:
400 TIMES (source: CDC, feb 18, 2021). I'd rather not take those chances thanks, and am glad we had the loss of 'liberty & freedom' to bring about some control over the virus when we did. Happy to change my opinion if you could actually quote a single reliable source (ie, not another discredited Dr. with an anti-vax, conspiracy theory agenda), but I don't think that's likely.

Sick of people like those above spouting forth as if they know all,and the rest of us are just easily led or brain washed by "mainstream media"!!

I know several,under 50 (not over 60), but Under 50 who have been very Badly Affected by Covid 19.

I have already seen someone buried who was only 49, was fit and healthy,with no underlying health issues or conditions prior to getting it.
Dead at 49!!

Another two mates I know have been fighting Long Covid,along with one of their wife's,all 3 aged between 42 & 49!!
2 of the 3 had no previous health issues and were fit and healthy,one had ongoing cancer treatment.
All 3 have lost a ton of weight due to it (and none were overweight to start with).
All.3 been in a very bad way,for nearly a year each now,and they don't all.live in the same town/area.

So,not just the older generation as people keep spouting off.

Well seeing Australia,New Zealand, Sweden etc all stopped incoming flights early on, and had herd immunity,and all 3 have had very low numbers.

The UK handled it all wrong,still allowing flights weeks/months after first appeared,etc Inc flights from China and Italy,with very little enforcement of lockdown!!
No wonder we're where we are at!

Yepp I don't get the mentality either that just because your below say 50 you're somehow invincible to Covid or think that if you do catch it that it it will just be a minor nuisance Even worse if you think this and decide to pass on the vaccine thinking it's an old persons disease. A work colleague has only just started back at work after catching Covid before Christmas, completely knocked her out for six. In her 40s, healthy with no underlying health issues so it's completely indescriminate towards its victims at the end of the day. More worryingly the latest reassurgence across Europe is said to be affecting more younger persons so probably another good reason all age groups get vaccinated asap.

But is there any evidence? Some truth as it were? Some stats? Anything? I don't watch the news but I would guess that Europe are getting the Kent virus right now which is pumping the numbers up all round.
