I certainly don’t feel confident about being couped up in an aircraft or ferry just yet.
When I see our MPs going back to work that will be my green light!

Eurotunnel got to be ok for a blast across the continent?

I think we might do something in Scotland this year- rent somewhere nice with good walks.

If its a problem going abroad because of the virus and potential for catching/spreading it do you think its wise to come to Scotland and potentially do the same thing?
Why cant everybody just give ALL holidays a miss until things are looking brighter?

I won’t go anywhere until I feel confident about my own safety and that of others - I’ve been shielding for over a year now so another wee while won’t harm.

We normally go to Germany each year but suspect because they now seem to be lagging behind the U.K. there will be precious little open so it seems pointless spending good money to travel all that way to sit and do nothing.

Days out with the top down and a picnic!

Im slightly confused....

If the vaccine is meant to be the magic bullet to stop the lockdowns and get life back to normal with sunshine and rainbows.... why arent the people that have had the jag living their best lives?

Its almost like it doesnt actually really make that much of a difference and that exactly what I and others have been saying (and that is already known) that even with the jab you can still catch and spread the thing and potentially be the platform for mutation... huh odd :idunno:

You’re confused...? :?

It’s not difficult, you can still get the virus and spread it but you won’t die or be ill from it or clog up the NHS with the vaccine....the virus ain’t going anywhere, we’re just protecting ourselves from it. Shame some won’t but that’s their lookout, the sane and vast majority will.

Odd to do that huh..... :idunno:

... you just repeated what I said, to try and be smart

The confusion comes from this apparent "get the jab and it will all be back to normal hunkydory" mentality/narrative, around 40% of the UK population has been vaccinated, deaths have fallen by 41% yet here we are including the people that have had the thing still locked away in homes scared to go outside, businesses are still shut, gyms closed, restaurants closed, people are scared to travel or live life, the jab that was meant to sort everything is doing a shite job :idunno:

You haven’t seen the road map out of lockdown that’s been known for a few weeks now as more and more are vaccinated in stages, which takes time, then obviously. It’s all there, we know what’s happening, you don’t seem to.

Why is the vaccine doing a shite job...? Explain. Or do you think the population can be vaccinated by fairies in one night and suddenly all is back to normal the next day...? Maybe you do. If it ain’t working how are death rates and infection rates falling....magic dust...?

I think the deaths are down by more than 41% [ref]Flyingfifer[/ref],

Any which way you look at it an amazing thing is happening.
https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

It's almost as if you vaccinate the over 65's and the immune uncompromised then the 90% of deaths that happen disappear.

Add in the fact that winter flu season has ended just after the vaccination process has started to further slingshot the numbers down the road.

The stick that they will beat us with over the next couple of weeks is the PCR false negatives and positives with the kids being back at school. I think (and hope) with the movement of the numbers that this will be false noise and won't put a dent in the momentum.

I don't think there is any reasoning with some on here. You can listen to their argument, eloquently put your across, back it up with numbers and research but you are not going to get through. You will get abused and called an idiot mind. And then probably called an anti-vaxer (even tho you support vaccines).

112 pages and counting, mostly repeating the same stuff over and over.
No one has changed their opinion or managed to change anyone else's, no matter how much shouting, abuse, sarcasm, mockery, etc has been used.
You need to get out more.......................

Oh hang on, we can't yet

[ref]enuff_zed[/ref], I think from today you are allowed to sit on a park bench and meet a friend when you are not exercising right?

Baby steps and all that...

Dripping with contempt and smarminess this one

Yep, seen it, too slow, too cautious. People under the age of 60 are pretty safe (90% chance of survival SAUCE) and I believe we have now reached that in terms of groups being vaccinated (also given over 65s is about 26% of the uk pop).

Ignoring the wanky fairy comment and repeating something I said previously: The death rates are falling due to the people that are actually at risk, the old (60+), are/have now been vaccinated.

You still seem to be missing the point I'm making, the vaccine is touted as the messiah, the saviour, the thing that once you have it that's you sorted you're safe and ready to go. Yet the people that have had it are still locked in their houses and, as has been articulated here, are still scared to travel and live life. Yes there is a long drawn out "road map" but there is a slight inconvenient issue with that.... it takes too long, we don't know how long the vaccine lasts, this road map is so long we might see the people that were vaccinated first (and the most vulnerable) losing their resistance.

That 3rd graphic- "Deaths within 28 days of positive test by date of death age demographics - Above and below 60" really does put things into perspective.

Very possibly! I wouldn't be surprised, just the latest figure id seen :)

Absolutely wild isnt it! Mindboggling

Unfortunately fear is a very powerful tool.

YOU call me smarmy....!!      Pot kettle in its fullest that...!!

Oh dear is roadmap not fast enough for you...? Shame....how would you feel living in Europe....?

Nothing will ever be good enough for the moaning complaining few that are a vast minority, well that’s fine, carry on with your miserable whingeing gloom riddled opinions, blaming anyone and everything for not doing what you know is right, well if you know so much go and do the decent thing and get us out of this mess faster, rid the world of the virus and stand on your soapbox and say “I told you so”, in fact why haven’t you done this already last year and done what you want which is get us out faster...? :scratchhead: You’d be a hero and loved by all.

This is going in circles so I’m out, I’ll be a sheep and follow the vast majority herd like a good boy, leave you minority few to stay in your pen and scratch your eyeballs out in disgust at anything that’s done but do the square root of zilch yourself about it even though you know better than everyone else.....

.......except complain.....

.......and get a strain of covid and end up on a ventilator.......

.......you know best of course.....
