Some good data to look at here. Please remember that these results are people who tested positive but could have died of something else and could have died directly from Covid.
Yes young people die of it (just like they die of everything else) but the figures are so highly skewed in our favour Vs the old our chances of survival are excellent.
Keep in mind that mean figure of 99.97% (give or take .5% depending on who's figures you go off) includes all age ranges so for the under 60 (or under 40 in my case) it's a massively higher number (even greater if you add in the lack of medical conditions) - I think I quoted 33 people without pre existing medical conditions under 40 had died in the UK a couple of pages back.
So you can bang on about how selfish I am for not taking the jab because I can spread it (no medical evidence to suggest that even if I had the jab I wouldn't also spread it).
You can say that I am stupid for not taking it (I think I have covered how unlucky I would be to suffer from it statistically above)
You can say I am an anti-vaxxer (clearly not I am trying to convince my mother to take it).
You can say that not having the vaccine means that life can not go back to normal quicker (under 16's are not being given the Vaccine and are spreading it across schools every day and developing immunity). I am happy to eventually catch it at some point and develope my own immunity also.
Simply saying that people have the right to decided what they put in their own bodies and the decision should be evaluated on a case by case basis.
The only thing I can't really justify is that if I get it would be the potential hospital time I would take up should I catch it and be seriously ill. I don't know the figures on this but I imagine that they are very small. But if you are prepared to treat smokers and obese people on the NHS (people who knowingly put themselves at risk) then all I can ask is you find it in your heart to allow me should this happen.
I think I have covered all the objections above but I look forward to hearing more about why I am wrong and a bad person for wanting people to have the choice of what they put in their bodies.
And this is what we are left to deal with in the aftermath:
