So you traded a jab for a right hook?
Something like that. It was more stick than carrot. :D I get a nice trip to Attleborough. I hope the weather is ok.......Zeddddd......
Ah Connaught Hall? 5 minute walk from my house.
Next Wednesday afternoon.
Nice area of the country which I hope to visit one day. I have direct relatives dating back to the 1600's from Winfarthing and Tivitshall St Mary

Norfolk is a beautiful place but I wouldn't say Attleborough was on my top lists of places that I will visit when we are free and I can travel home.

The English Whisky company's distillery's is about 10 minutes away and does amazing food. I shall no doubt be paying a visit to pick up a bottle or two.

Don't know if I'd mention that - Winfarthing might as well be Suffolk and we don't talk to them!

I'd agree it's not the best place in Norfolk. Central is not a good thing when you want to reach the coast, especially with that great lump of masonry called Norwich right in the way.
In addition to the distillery though, I am also in earshot of Snetterton. A 3 mile walk on a sunny day.

The cafe at the distillery has been sold to a private concern now, and with the restrictions in place we've not been able to check out their quality. Was always a good bet for Sunday breakfast before.

It's a lovely little town. You would much rather a trip there than say Dereham or Thetford. Funny old one way system- you don't realise how nice most of Norfolk is until you move away.

My mum used to live within earshot of Snetterton and I used to go to a School not far from there too.

I assume you get free passes for Snetterton? My mum did and we used to go and sit in the grandstand on random days.

It's a shame they have sold that cafe- a right little gem and I am sure it would have been a nice little earner for them alongside the tours that they used to do (I guess as you say both are not happening now). I hope they keep the food to the same standard. Can't wait until their whisky ages a bit too as it's a bit feisty and young.

Let's not talk to much about how amazing the coasts are- don't want the outsiders knowing and coming across and filling up our beaches.... The coast roads are bad enough on a sunny day!

No chance since Palmer and his consortium took it over!
Admittedly the circuit is much better and lots of excellent viewing points, but the old character is gone for me.
Can't just wander where you like any more.

On the plus side, you can use the toilets without wellies now

WTF? This thread (after 119 pages) has become a "love-in". Is it because Mr Angry has gone away to celebrate his Birthday? :D :D

Or is this "normal for Norfolk"? :D

This is 'normal for reading 119 pages repeating the same mantra ad nauseum and trying to lighten it up a bit'. :D

I used to work over on the fens - the locals there used to drive to Spalding on a Friday night to watch the traffic lights change :poke:
All changed now though. The locals drive to Spalding to learn Russian and Lithuanian. :poke:

Where I lived in Norfolk we had a verb that we would use to describe someone from the Wisbeach/Sutton/Spalding- Fens area.

Not to sure if it's very PC these days but it is a 5 letter word the last 3 letters are the thing that you turn to start your car. :poke:

Would we be thinking '3.142....car starting device' ??
