Hey Guys!

Here again!

So like the previous autumn/winter/spring/summer threads I thought it would be nice to start a 2014 image thread, as they are pretty popular slight change to cars and we get to see what everyone is up to :D . Basically a thread to show the beautiful places you live, places you see/been, the cars you drive, your situations/adventures you get into and anything else that you have photographed!

Basically introduce yourself, what you were doing, where you were and for the gear guys like me, would be great to know what you were shooting with

Il start us off

I have a huge amount of photos I need to offload but haven't had chance to. But here are some from 'Chillswim' an event I covered recently.

Little description

The lanes marked in the water made a section of England’s longest lake resemble a swimming pool – albeit an icy cold one in temperatures of less than 6C. Almost 600 swimmers, some in fancy dress, took the plunge in Windermere without wearing wet suits, for the Big Chill. The mass-participation swim, held at Low Wood Bay Marina over the weekend, featured a number of relay races. Swimmers took part in bathing suits, emerging from the water with bright pink skin, but invigorated by the experience.

Very brave people. Most swimming for charities and a challenge people from all over the world turned up.

Well, these photos I took of the floods were noticed on the intranet by the editor of BBC Midlands Today. Had a tweet to phone him. I did and they were impressed with the photos and wanted to run an article on them and me on Midlands Today!! That was last Thursday. They came to my house to film me on the computer editing images then out on my pushbike near the floods!! It was aired last Thursday on the 6.30pm edition!! :P

Since then I have had the National News Agency contact me about a story, 2 rock bands have contacted me about doing a shoot for them and an advertising company want to license a couple of the flood photos for some brochures for a client!! :o

It surprised me as I'm sure they have seen and been sent loads of photos of the floods! Right place, right time I guess because if it had been a couple of days later the floods would have subsided and it wouldn't have been so news worthy! That edition of Midlands Today and the main BBC news was being presented from Worcester that day also.
