The Image Thread 2014

It surprised me as I'm sure they have seen and been sent loads of photos of the floods! Right place, right time I guess because if it had been a couple of days later the floods would have subsided and it wouldn't have been so news worthy! That edition of Midlands Today and the main BBC news was being presented from Worcester that day also.

Congrats! That's excellent news, really pleased for you.

This is an excellent thread, should be "stuck" at the front of the list ...

Great pics guys

Great shots. I used to live a stones throw from there. It always amazed me how easily the race course and cricket ground flooded and it was just considered the norm!

Congrats on the coverage !!!

Recently landed a deal with local estate agents PF&K heres a few from the first two houses, both in Keswick, Cumbria. First one has a list of £695k and the second is a flat for £305k

All shot with a little 1100D with a 10-22mm lens (specifically because APC gives more depth of field at the same aperture compared to full frame). Impressed with the results. Most were 3 exposures merged together, interiors are very high dynamic range situations harsh shadows and highlights. Basically HDR but natural not horrible over processed typical HDR.

First Property Description

Situated in an elevated position, within easy walking distance of the town centre it has a lovely terrace and garden from which to enjoy the views and plenty of private parking.

Hello, my real name is Mark Jackson and I live in Oundle, near the river Nene. Beautiful bit of the countryside blessed with decent roads. I love a decent road trip and driving for fun, my Z4 is a toy car having previously owned a number of westfields and other interesting fast cars. Just getting into photography using a Nikkon 5200 with the standard 18-55 nikkor lens. I think I want a 70-200 or -300 zoom lens next.

Anyway, been playing with light painting and fire, and sparklers, but also like a good landscape.....people I find a tad harder to photograph well.

This was a fire painting one, similar to the one I entered into this months competition.

This was using EL wire and a long exposure under moonlight for the star trails

This was a bit more risky.

It might appear "cool", but trust me it's bloody scary! 300 mph trying to formate on another large aircraft whilst a boom operator attempts to stick the boom in the roof is scary however you look at it. Another downside is that as we can refuel, we can stay airborne for a lot longer! try 18-20 hours on for size, seriously uncool! Also if we really want to scare ourselves, we do it over hostile territory (SAM threat) at night with no lights and using no comms procedures!

I've been going to Plagne for neigh on 30 years. We have a place in Belle Plagne. Planning to spend the summer up there this year.
