The Exclusive Hardtop Club

I've just come indoors from re-fitting the hardtop for the winter. Hardest part was getting it down off the garage ceiling where it had hung in it's bag all year!

I'll add a picture next week when the refurbed wheels and winter tyres should be fitted.

Following on from another thread about the hardtop fitting kit I noticed that the boot lid was touching the glass when fully opened.

I found some pvc tubing in the garage that had the correct internal diameter so I cut off two pieces and fitted them, good, but not quite enough of a gap.

I then thought the pvc tube would have the same external diameter as a hosepipe, two minutes later two small pieces of hosepipe snugly fitted over the pvc I now have about 7mm between boot and glass. :D

Another member please!

I wasn't planning on putting it on today but saw this thread and it reminded me!

Hey guys iv got a roadster and im just wondering why you would want to put a hard top on it? What are the advantages? Do you not think the fabric roof is upto the uk weather?

Erm, I use mine to protect from winter nasties - grit/salt on the roads, frost etc. There was 6" of snow on my car this time last year.

Keeps the ragtop clean, crisp and fresh

I wasn't sure about the wheel colour but I think its growing on me.

I see no picture of your hardtop Richard! :poke:

Membership is under review, particularly for the lack of application and simply sneaking your name on the list

Yeah - we can't let anyone in without full photographic evidence. Hell we could have coupe owners just adding themselves to the membership.
