I never thought this topic would be so controversial and provide so much banter. Loving it

:happyclap: :happyclap: :happyclap:

How did you get your username? Just a question...

I picked it, being from the land of Dorich thought it was fitting :P

yeah i feel that white is a more a lack of colour than being an actual colour..... i would of opted for red had it not been metallic on mine but white does show off the lines more

White is actually what we perceive when ALL colours are reflected so quite the opposite :poke:

but what if there is no light to reflect the colours.... all becomes black and your point becomes mute :poke:

Pardon me for digressing, but I can't seem to find the offset for the 2011 sdrive20i. Is it front/rear 29/29? Or is it like the sdrive35i 29/40?

Hello and welcome, offset is 29 when the wheel rim width is 8 and 40 on the rear with the staggered set up is fitted i.e the rears are 8.5 width

Back on topic, its not that I don't like white, it is just becoming to common again and especially on the e89. Was quite disappointed in JDM choosing a white car after the black coupe but hey its his car.

Just one point though, white is not a woman's colour choice, we have, on average, better colour co-ordination than men and so we pick colours

:poke: Glaikit, in Scotland, your name means your slow and dumb! I am glad you find it soo fitting!

Just feeling left out and feel like gatecerashing the party and going off-topic :x

Is white easy to clean? :poke:
I would imagine you would clean it the same as any car with a bucket full of fairy liquid, a sponge and a chamois to dry
:poke:

But if there was never any light in the visible spectrum then we wouldn't have evolved eyes with the correct receptors to detect it and this whole thread becomes mute :P :poke:

I used to have a black e90 3 series - when it was clean it was stunning, but showed up every nick etc and swirl marks! Shows dirt easily.

White hides more marks (but you know their there!), looks grey when dirty.

It really p$sses me off when people say white is a fad colour - sure, if you can change your car every time the wind changes, then you can go with fashion, but most people can't, so choose what they like.

Not that many signing up to the club in this thread really! :D

Mine is White, but I did spend an age deciding between Alpine White or Space Grey. My last car was Candy White (Edition 30 Golf) and I loved it on that too, and it sold within 24 hours - partly down to the colour. Had a number of folk interested who said they really wanted a Candy White one. Hopefully it'll be the same with the Z4 when it comes to resale time.

I bought my white 28i to fit in with the cool kids at school .... :fuelfire:

On another note, Red Leather + White Car = 8) SAFC 8)

Now then, now then, we'll have no talk like that Miss Sars :P

To be fair, I have wanted a white car for a long time. To the point I was considering putting a white wrap on the coupe.

I do like black and when its clean I think no colour will come close but it is such a nightmare to look after and shows every little mark. I would have gone for space grey but my previous roadster was sterling grey. Acatama yellow is too in your face, silver is bland, the red looks good in some lights but in others not so nice and the blue is too much like the black in terms of looks and a pitta to look after.

Hence my decision to go with white.. And its a no cost option which means I could spend the money on other nice shiny things :) :)

Ive been looking at an E92 M3 in white and it looks the t#ts 8) Not too sure about it on other bimmers though. Although I think the E89 wears white much more effectively than the TT, that car just looks like a albino ladybird
