The Coupe Database

OK Taz, painful as it must be, at least your source is sensible.
How long before you think you can do the Powerpoint presentation for us all? I'm off to Kirkstone pass and back home through the Dales today - do you think you can have it ready by teatime?

On behalf of Tom and me:

A true case of triumph over adversity.

I realise that I have been of no help whatsoever in Taz's endeavour, but have been in awe of his commitment.

Haha cheers RickRob. Tapatalk needs to step up its game, I'm missing out here.

But yes Taz, not sure how the forum can repay you for the hours ... The roadies might send over a tin opener for you?

RickRob, you should do a db for the roadsters, it took me 2 months for the coupes so I estimate it will take 20 months for the roadsters, you'd better make a start today :P

Great work Taz.

But, how do you go about figuring out how many of those are UK cars?

The options are:

L812A Länderausführung England / Irland NATIONAL VERSION GREAT BRITAIN
L807A Länderausführung Japan NATIONAL VERSION JAPAN
L810A Länderausführung Australien National version Auatralia

Amongst the England/Irland option cars there are cars listed with option 'S548A Kilometertacho Kilometer-calibrated speedometer'. These cars I am assuming are for southern Ireland

Ah, very interesting. Yeh it all makes sense.

So when do the full database results enter into the public domain?

er how do i do that lol, i can't put it on here cos its just too big

one thing i still can not work out is how to tell the difference between an SE and a Sport, so at the moment i can not breakdown car colours between these two

Ah OK,

I was wondering whether you could break down into a few components.

Say, exterior colour and key interior choices (i.e. Black Sapphire + Black Nappa / Piano Black or Black Sapphire + Light Sepang / Piano Black).

Maybe produce a much more detailed version of the production number table that was posted on page 1.

I know that would take a lot of work, but would definitely be interesting to see.

Would allow people to know how "rare" their combinations are.

I don't think that going to the extent of complete spec would be useful, but the main bits would be cool to see?

For instance, mine is Carbon Black + Black Nappa / Piano Black.....would be interested to know how many are in the UK in same spec.

i will have a look at yours for you in the next few days. i may forget so remind me if i don.t get back to you

I have just been in contact with the bmw archive people, they are going to look into missing VIN numbers - I have found 5 not on the archive

same comment as StevenH72!
good work, Taz, that's taking one for the team in my book.
