That football match

I watched "that match" - what a snoozefest.

Luckily I didn't mind who won, as my Mum was English but my Dad was a Scot!

Sadly tonight's England match wasn't much better, but at least we scored a goal.

Another utterly mediocre performance by England. OK we won but it was not entertaining in the slightest. I remember the days when professional football was entertaining. :( It's a sorry state of affairs when Pickford is the most creative England player with the most of the ball.

You must have a f... long memory then.

Working for a company that used to have "Scotland" in its name tomorrow will be fun at work. Sorry, colleagues you got a draw and thought you had won the World Cup or something!

As an impartial bystander I have a question. When the English Premier league has the best players in the world, that the locals can hone their skills on, why has England consistently underperformed on the big stage, and has done since 1966?

Bloomin' hell mate you could write a thesis on that, though I think you answered your own question - "the locals can hone their skills on".

Because about 90% of the Premier League players are foreign. It's all about money, not home-grown talent :(

Well, we struggled to stay awake, and ended up watching Scotland as it was more entertaining.
England scored 2 goals in 3 games, were boring, mediocre and showed neither pride nor enthusiasm. Top of the group.
Scotland scored 2 goals in 3 games, were exciting to watch, tried their very hardest, worked solidly for 90 minutes, obviously brimming with pride for their country. Bottom of the group.
Stupid sport!

Will be playing one of the "big boys" next week so won't have to be bored by England for much longer.

The bad thing is the FA has said even if we perform badly Southgate will keep his job.

Why?

Germany up next so going out soon.

The issue is England have the players but not the manager, his first thought is do not lose and his second is be careful we do not concede a goal.

What England need is to be losing 1 - 0 and then they have to open up to score, as long as it is 0 - 0 GS will play slow / boring / conservative football and try to nick a goal - his aim is to get to the semi final (not win) and then the countries expectations will be met.

Now Merkle is trying to get all the EU, not just Germany, to ban all Brits from going on holiday in the EU without Quarantining for a couple of weeks when you get there, I hope Southgate gets his finger out and stuffs them. ( Unlikely but.....)

Perhaps Boris will ban all Germans from attending the game without having quarantined for 10 days beforehand. They could watch it in their Premiere Inn hotel rooms.
