That feeling when you first drove your Z4

Where to begin?

I never had the intention of buying a new car let alone a Z4MR. I was working out in Brazil and to kill some time I was browsing through PH classified (always dangerous) just for a nosey. I was initially looking at M3's but had a look at the Z4M's too. That was that. A few weeks go by, and I don't know about anyone else that works away for long periods at a time, but I get an urge to buy something. I don't know why, I just do. So after a few too many Brahma's I head back to PH and Z4M's. Found 1 straight away, emailed the dealer and after a quick bit of man maths paid a deposit. Just as easy as that. My most expensive drunken purchase to date. I didn't get home to collect the car for another 4 weeks.

I flew home from Brazil, arrived back in Aberdeen at 8pm on the Tuesday evening and booked a ticket for a flight to London at 9am the next morning. The dealer picked me up from Gatwick and after a thorough inspection of the car and a test drive, my card was swiped (no interference from bank which I thought was strange) and the keys were mine. Initial impressions were, WTF OMG! This sounds incredible. How can anybody complain that the standard exhaust isn't loud enough!? I drove the car like a wuss for the 4-500mile trip back to Aberdeen. I was in awe. It was a fair step up from a Renaultsport Clio 182. I had never had a car with electric heated seats, sat nav etc. It was brilliant. I was like a 6 year old with my first set of micro machines again. It's an experience that I am not likely to forget anytime soon.
