thanks

Wow - not a pretty sight. Looks to me like all that metal deforming where it should have absorbing impact and rigidity in other places like the screen surround creating a safety zone saved you.

I can see the front airbag not deploying, but would have expected at least the drivers to have gone with that force and the roll. Were thay active?

So what next? Police looking a the car, insurers assessment, or yours to drag home?

Air bags active ok just none deployed, i suppose that was due to slow deceleration, not sure if sides should deploy in roll over.
Police did not inspect the car, they were satisfied as to state of car at roadside, it was all in good order there were certainly no issues in that department, waiting for insurance to take away and assess damage/repair etc, think i know the answer to that one don't you..

Yep - you could well be right re not deploying on rollover. Cars take a beating before they go off. Good luck with the assessors. Looks like a write off to me, but hey I've seen wonders with a porter cable

wow fella.. had been keeping quiet until now but one thing for sure, the look of that bent chassis will sit in my mind next time i question whether im driving too hard.

it can't be said enough - you're a lucky chap to walk away from that.

So, once you've got a letter of agreement that they will settle.. you gonna tell us what you did ? :)

assume the police arent going to charge you with anything?

Spoke with the copper last night, he is a sound guy, very non judgemental, he told me from the physical evidence they have and two witness statements that he felt there was nothing out of place, but he's got to interview me yet.... :(

Wow, simply wow. Echo'ing again, glad your ok. Amazed at how decent the cab stood up.
Just don't tell the police anything about a cell phone :?

OMG! After seeing the new pics, I honestly do not know how you walked away from that without any major damage or still alive for that matter! It certainly says something for BMW though, well built - as yours is the 3rd wrecked/crushed/rolled over accident I've seen within these forums. Best wishes to you, hope your insurance co does right by you. :)

First, glad to see you are ok.

(begin jokes...)

"Mr. plowy, You seem to be taking your handle too literally."

"Dude, I see the problem. Your hamburger fell out."

"Welcome students. For our first lesson in Z4 origami..."

"Honey, if you wanted to trade it in for a Coupe, all you had to do was ask!"

Police Report: Cause of accident - driver saw a Sub-Prime Mortgage Broker on the side of the road.
Insurance Company: Ok, no problem. That's covered under "Losses in the line of a Public Service".

(end of jokes)

again... glad you are alive.

When I drove a convertible I always had my doubts about how well the A pillar would really hold up in a roll over situation - under the circumstances shown here I am now in awe of the engineering that allows that to work so well.
