I filled up the first tankful with Tesco momentum after buying the car and the emissions light came on about 5 miles later, I had done 120 miles previous to that.
I don't think it was the fuel but probably that the dealer had reset it before selling the car... But I have used v power ever since, just in case.

BIO fuels - they don't combust as well as conventional fuels & know this from a small notice at the service desk in my AUDI garage mentioning not to use them in their high compression diesels a couple of years back when I was having misfire problems - your average car will run just fine on them, so obviously somewhere something's not quite right.
They were subsequently told to remove it a little while later, but never had misfires myself using 99 Momentum, just feel V Power makes car run smoother, but never risk Supermarket fuel in my A3 anymore...

I dont use supermarket fuel but use V power.
Over the last 1000 miles I have averaged 26.6mpg and do a lot of town driving.
My last run from Penrith to Chester 260 miles give or take (there and back) gave me 34.3mpg return. Driving at 80 and a lot of overtaking bursts of speed. Love my M, costs me less to run than my old 320Si that returned 28 max on normal unleaded, about the same on V. Winner all round
I haven't found it thirsty at all so far.
My car does do a little jiggling in the first few hundred metres. But my dad had an E46 M3 and did the same so not too worried. Although the car doesn't start so easily especially in the last week when its been a bit colder (around 4-6deg) takes maybe 5-6 seconds on the key to start up. But always starts, no stalling or juddering like its struggling. I have heard these engines don't like the cold to much but once warm its fine

I average 19.8mpg....... maybe I'm having a bit more fun....
