Tempted by this... UPDATE: It's home...

Gary,

Stunning interior! I've ordered the same combination for my C300 company car due in Sept. Any ideas how to keep the crystal grey leather free of dirty marks with your dogs? I'm more worried about colour transfer from jeans so any tips you have are welcome.

As I have the Ivory leather in the e89 I've learned which products are best. Liquid leather do a foAm that is a fantastic cleanser without any faff or creams or residue etc.

Just a wipe down with this every few months does the trick.

However for the s205 I've bought some GYEON LeatherCoat which I'll apply weather permitting to seal the seats and make them super easy to maintain.

I'm massively impressed by the car so far. It's just stunning inside and out. The ease of drive and air suspension make the car an ultimate cruiser. Plus I added almost every toy and it feels like luxury on wheelz

Woohoo, getting excited I bet :D

Just booked mine in for it's 48,000 mile service......

..... that's £597.00 thank you very much madam

Don't you find the MB A & B service set up a complete con & a insult to the buyer ?

Car looks great Gary , assume this is going to mean the Z will be looking at much less miles per annum now 8)
Need to clear that garage out for it to nest in the winter months

To be honest, the s205 is so good I'm considering letting the e89 go. As much as I love that Z, this Merc has really bowled me over. I'm not making any rash decisions yet, I'll give it a bit of time and yes if the e89 stays around, a summer project is to empty, bin and rack out the garage... or possibly even build a new garage as this one is very leaky and damp. As I've discovered with my BBQ I put in over winter, storing it in the damp garage was far worse than having it outside with a cover on.

** YAY OF THE DAY **

... and yay of the day is that the MB COMAND system (yes one M, no idea) (iDrive equiv) allows personal POI import.

... which means I've bought an online Speed Camera database subscription for £7.50 a year, that I can download and convert into a format suitable for COMAND and then import.

I now have speed camera icons on the map and audible alerts. Finally, it always annoyed me I couldn't do that on the beemer.

That sounds like a great idea and a very useful 'thing' to have.

Certainly worth 'Yay of the day'

I'll be bothering you for instructions on how to do this in September when mine arrives :D

Four hours! This is a big car. AD Snow foamed, MG washed, GYEON clay'd, GYEON prepped, PB BH glazed, AF illusion waxed.

Lovely!

Makes such a nice change from the sea of white and silver cars everywhere.
Glad you're enjoying your new purchase!

....as I typed....I remembered that I have the white 3 series today and not the Z4. :exitright:

Car is lovely. A bit gutless at high speed but that's because I'm used to 300+hp.

Comfortable, practical, luxurious.

COMAND is a PITA to use, has all the features but is badly designed in terms of usability. 7 speed auto is witless and changes unnecessarily. Definitely the worst part of the car for me. Shifts are also harsh when cold but are ok when warm. Not a patch on a BMW drivetrain.

A bit of wind noise at very high speeds but otherwise car is tomb like quiet and airmatic suspension is very nice. Build quality isn't perfect but is way above BMW. Interior and exterior are still a masterpiece for a daily.

I'm not attached to it at all though. It's not interesting to drive. Just a nice luxurious family lugger.

Thanks for the update. It's now looking at October before ours arrives so I shall enjoy the 3 series for a little while longer yet!
