Suggestions for new forum sections

Ach....before your time. I swear PhilDz4 and SS were seperated at birth. It took only 2-3 months before SS was banned from Z4um. (Myself, on the other hand took 2 years before I experienced a 30 day suspension.) Ask Phil about SS.

Sooooooooo nobody ever gave an answer to the brilliant Idea of the Give Zee42 a Dollar section :driving:

I'm waiting for the same here, got 1.123.432 one dollar bills just lying around waiting for this section to appear.

Maybe we can join forces and put some pressure on them to add this section....we could split it...TRUST ME  . That way when the Z4 for 2009 comes out with the folding hard top you can send me all the dollars you have received,I can add that to mine and I can buy one  :driving:

A MUST HAVE section is how to clean and protect the interior and exterior of our Z4 ... A place to discuss all car products and our comments ... I missed that section from Z4UM ....

You read my mind... I'm thinking that will be the next section to be added :D

Well I'm a newbie and here is some feedback for you:
I got my Z4 a little more then two months ago. I immediately went on the web and searched for Z4/BMW forums. I found a few sites and added them to my favorites after joining. Since then I have deleted all of them except this one from my favorites.
I don't know why I chose this one, but I guess the others either had too many members and felt less personal or were completely inactive.
I didn't even know this was a new forum! So I guess I'm saying good job and keep up the good work!
The only thing I would like is a way to simply post pictures off of my hard drive instead of having to upload everything.

Thanks for the positive feedback there, I'm glad you chose to stay :D

The jury is still out on the direct posting of pictures idea... it's a difficult one to manage really, mainly because I fund the hosting by myself and we don't currently have advertising revenue coming in to help with that.

If I allow pics to be stored on the server then I will have costs of extra storage, possible extra bandwidth, not to mention the nightmare of backing it all up. (the old z4um crowd can vouch for the importance of that ;))

For now we are going to stick with recommending photobucket for image storage (it really isn't that bad), but we may reassess the situation once I get a handle on the exact costs implications of making such a move. I hope you understand.

This is a great forum. Others have their niche, this one is strictly Z4's. It has my vote of approval (as if it needed it anyway). :D

Live long and perspire!

Yes, its a new forum but with people who knows their Z4 very well... Most of them were members for years in Z4UM... Unfortunately this forum was closed ...
I hope all of us try and make this forum the best for Z4 !!!

Well, here it goes *gulp!*: while I adore my Z, I do like discussing other vehicles from time to time and seeing what others have - particularly older vehicles. Just like driving my Z is an extreme pleasure reserved for occasional indulgences, I love working on and building my old Silverado's small block and would like input from my friends here sometimes.
I could go to other sites I know but, I'm so busy and my on-line time is already limited with work and so many other things. I have a life outside my Z and enjoy other things, the lounge is a great place to discuss those things. But I think the discussion of other vehicles would get lost there. Honestly, either way I'm a dedicated Z4-forum contributor but another car/truck/motorcycle section would be fun.
OK, fire away - I've got my bunker gear on! :fuelfire:

Thanks for the input... I have heard from a few pople that this would be a nice addition but have never used it myself.... and as it's my forum you can all bugger off!!!!

.. hehe... only joking, I think there is more certainly room for this section as well... if it doesn't take off we could always re-merge anyway, so no worries!

If it's ok with you all I will add the "detailing" and the "other marques" section over the weekend.

J :D

New sections have been created:

Detailing + bodywork
Other Marques

If you see any threads in other sections that need moving, please PM a mod and we will do the honours!

Enjoy :D
