Attached is a quick YouTube video after dismantling the center console area. The ash tray on my e89 was stuck open and would not close. It wasn’t due to a stuck coil or something wedging it. I opened it up and found the small paper clip like retainer laying inside the console. This may be an issue for someone else sooner or later so made a video showing where it inserts. This piece if lost could probably just be made with a paper clip too.
