Boonies - middle of nowhere... No idea where it comes from, may be peculiar to Scottish vernacular :D

I'll look out for that language spreading south to Ashford!

I see that this add also says Does (sic) NOT compatible with satellite radio and/or GPS system....but yours works!

I guess £10 including delivery is not much of a gamble to move over to the dark-side....

Our cars don't have satellite radio, and the GPS antenna is elsewhere in the car... In the trim above the rear view mirror IIRC. It'll work fine

Thanks...all explained and understood now. Off eBaying.....

Hi Matt,

Here's a pic of mine, there is a very small gap but you only really notice it close up so it doesn't bother me.

Cheers Adam,

That's the gap I'm talking about! Was this a mangowalk one?

I seem to be able to spot if miles away, and strangely my stubby that is in my boot no longer screws in anywhere near tight enough, but was previously like yours. God knows.

I bought the BMW version for £22 as I figured I could return it if the reception was rubbish. Had it nearly 3 months and seems pretty good so far on FM and AM.

Does it align to the base Rob? Can't be dealing with the gap!

Cheers
Matt

Yes fits perfectly.

Oh No------------------------------------------------- :headbang:

Turned the Arial gently and in was turning and then I looked down and the Arial was off! Balls, the thread has snapped.

Presume I need a new base  anyone got a part no!

I've got a spare if you want, though they are pretty cheap from the dealer. Part no. is 652 069 13897.

Anyone tried the 5 and 7 inch stubby?

That's what I've ordered this time round to see A) how it looks and B) how it performs. I used to have the BMW short one on my E88 and it wasn't great reception to be honest. So thought I'd give something bigger a go. I'll post pics when the arrive and I've tried then out
