Bring it with you, I bet we can have it on in 10 minutes! :)

P.S. Anyone got a low torque wrench going on Sunday? I need to check mine!

Just fitted the //M strutbrace to my 2.5Si Roadster, the difference is you the way you fit it roward facing or reaward facing.

It obscures the filler cap for the oil on the standard car, haven't read every response so apologies if this has already been answered

I wasn't aware the tower nuts were single use, bugger it was only on the old car two weeks! I expect finding some new ones will be tricky :( Yeah they are easy to fit, just the car is going in for a minor operation on the 18th and I'd rather keep it stock until they fix my errant brake cooling duct.

the nuts are a slightly off shaped centre circle, when you tighten them down to the specified 35nm they deform to a complete circle and lock into place, once they have been used the deformation and locking doesnt happen as its already been done, hence they will eventually keep coming loose, for about a 10 pounds you can get 6 more new ones!! Definatly worth the effort imo.

ok, now I'm confused looking at my setup (facing backwards) :? ...should it be facing forward or backwards on a Z4M ?

ok, thanks...I guess I'll order some new bolt and do it properly

Anybody know the part number or how you get new tower nuts for the BMW strutbrace, I'm in the dealer and it's not listed as a separate part. :0/

It definitely should curve forwards ;)

Sourced some fastenings and fitted the bar this weekend past with a small dab of threadlock on the tower bolts for good measure, can't say I've noticed a difference yet but shiney = good! I have only driven it around town so perhaps a b road drive might be more telling.

With the 03 3.0 it felt noticeably different with the run flats skipping on bumps when under cornering - felt more nervous but tighter.

Ad :)

I have an oem BMW strut brace in my garage that I still have to fit. Are there any downsides on fitting a strut brace? Let's say for instance someone crashes into the left front side of your car. Will a strut brace transfer the impact to the other side of the car and also damage the right suspension?

Where did you buy the bolts mate, I maybe have the same issue?

The four for the bar were matched with some nylon locking ones at a fastening shop in Southend - 10p each. The strut ones are impossible to find it seems as they are not a normal shape but unlike the ones on the bar they did not appear oval or with thread damage.

Well got mine fitted yesterday and went for a drive today, have to say I noticed a difference in that the front feels better, loses the wooly feeling you sometimes get. Car just feels more precise if you know what I mean.

Anybody any opinions about possible downsides when fitting a strut brace?

Thread revival time!

From reading this and looking at the various instructions (plus a good search of the forum).....

Does anyone know if a strut brace from an E46 M3 will fit the Z4??

Anyone know about this?

See there is an ACS strut brace for sale on eBay, ridiculous amount of money, but listed as fitting E46/Z4.... is that right??
